Warranty claim void because of "corrosion"

Hello,

-I have a 2012 e 350 with Extended warranty for one more year.

-The car has adaptive highbeams (they move around when you steer).

-Right headlight stopped working with "Adaptive Highbeam Assist inoperative" message coming up on the console.

-Took it to the dealer to have it fixed-- and they stated that due to corrosion inside the headlight unit, the entire unit went bad. Because this corrosion caused the unit to go bad, it is not covered by warranty. We're looking at $1100 to replace the unit.

-Due to scheduling, I took it to a MB dealer down the street from where I live-- and not the dealer I bought the car from who has performed previous warranty work. Could taking it to the original dealer change the outcome?

Has anyone run into this before with a warranty claim?

Any advice would be helpful--

Thanks,
Mauricio

Makes zero sense to me.
Mercedes all have corrosion warranties from factory that ate like 7+ years.
Corrosion inside a sealed headlight would be covered anyway.
Is this factory warranty???
