Performance upgrades and tune for 2015 e400?

Im considering a tune on my 2015 e400. Stock it makes 329hp 354ftlb. It would be nice if I could push it closer to 400hp.

As of now it doesnt have any performance upgrades except for high flow intake, brembo brakes, and staggered wheels.

I dont want to overwork the car and destroy it, but it would be nice if it could make more power. My goal is to get it closer to c43 / e43 performance. I was looking into JB4 tuners which I believe just increases boost by manipulating sensor data.

If I were to go with a JB4, would an intercooler upgrade be necessary? Upgraded intercoolers run about $1500. Is it worth the cost? Is there any cheaper options for an intercooler?

I was also considering the possibility of high flow downpipes. There are lots of them available on marketplace that people never installed. I do not want this if its going to set a CEL. Is there any way to run performance downpipes without triggering CEL or o2 sensor issues? I know the proper way is to tune it but I'm not going to drop $1500 on an ECU flash just for this.

What's the best for the money when it comes to increasing performance on one of these cars?

I got a used set of brembos and some new 360mm rotors for my 2015 e400 w212. I want to paint them but I can't decide on what color. I was going to go red for the AMG look but porsche acid green is really growing on me. Has anyone ever seen green brakes on a Mercedes before? I like the exotic look but it could also be tacky.

Should I paint the stock rear calipers to match? I can't decide if I should paint those black or color match the front.

This is a real photo of my car. I used photoshop to compare colors.

M276 NA - Cylinder 2 Misfire

Last weekend, I changed the spark plugs, air filter, etc., as part of the 100K service on my 2014 E350 4M. All parts were purchased from FCP Euro, and the spark plugs were Bosch, just like when I did them at 50K. I did not remove the air intake plenum. The car drove fine until last night, and now I have a misfire on C2. The codes that I have are P030285 and P030085.

So far, I have swapped the coil pack from 1 to 2 and 2 to 1 — no difference in the misfire. Then I checked the spark plug and interchanged it with cylinder 1, and again no difference. The spark plugs were torqued to 23 Nm. I have double-checked the connections, especially on the passenger side due to the cylinder 2 issue, but haven't found anything. The ECU was dry with no traces of oil. I do have pigtails installed a while back.

I have also checked compression using the scan tool, and the numbers are:
C1=178.91, C2=184.46, C3=179.60, C4=180.03, C5=180.46, C6=182.8.

I also checked the smooth running of the combustion engine, and C2 is out of whack — like 10.40–10.95, all other are low numbers.

The next logical step seems to be installing a new fuel injector for C2. But how can I make sure the wiring at the coil pack 2 is working as it should before I take on the bigger task of removing the intake manifold? (At that point, I might reseal the timing covers and other things as well.) What are your thoughts — what should I do next to solve this C2 misfire? Any other pointers on things to check? Any vacuum lines that I disconnected, are back on.

Thanks for your help.

I took these readings after driving about 150 highway miles at 75 to 80 mph… I’m not sure if this is just a faulty sensor, but this can’t be normal. My intake manifold pressure is showing to be over 300 bar. I consulted ChatGPT and it stated that that is very very high and it could possibly be a sensor issue but I wanted to get input from the members of this great forum. Let me know your thoughts.

I do have an issue with code 0524 “The Charge Movement Flap (Cylinder Bank 1) Has A Malfunction.”CURRENT AND STORED

The car drives great without any issues, but I wanted to know if there is something I’m not noticing here.

Does anyone else here have an M272 powered W212 and love the low speed exhaust note? When my wife drives my car down the driveway I absolutely love how it sounds. I remember my son took me for a boat ride on the inland waterway in Ft Lauderdale and there was a large cabin cruiser fitted with a pair of MTU's and my car has that same smooth mellow sound. As much as I have money burning a hole in my pocket for something else I would really miss that sound.

2015 e400 w212 4matic sedan. Staggered tires. My old rear tires had really bad uneven wear on the inside edge. A brand new tire was destroyed in 5k miles. I had it aligned and put new expensive continentals on it.

These are the results from my alignment. The rear toe is barely changed and the wheels are still noticeably at an angle. Should I have the shop correct this alignment or is it good the way it is?

I paid $1200 for these tires I dont want them to be destroyed in 5k miles.

Out of curiosity has anyone experimented with cheap aftermarket OEM replacement front struts for a pre facelift W212. I am not looking for any lowering struts or stance mods, I am talking about the cheap stuff from China.
I would have them refurbished but sadly I bought the car crashed and the front struts are bent. I asked around local refurbishers but they keep their secrets as to what brands of aftermarket parts they use since pretty much all of them offer refurbishing kits and the entire struts.
If push comes to shove I will buy a new one from Arnott since I have heard good things about their struts.

After replacing both sensor, the value is balanced but the check engine returned with the same issues and error codes.

Also I already replaced the breather hose with part number A2720181382.

The vehicle doesn't show the weird symptoms the idle is smooth not rough, however the idle feels more shaky during the cold start and it feels maybe around 30 seconds and the rough idle is gone when the idle going down into 600-700rpm.

Need your advice and guide.

Thank you all

Guys,

I’m reassembling my 2010 E 350 after a flex disc job and I’m installing the rear engine mount
and the bolts BA22.10-P-1004-03E. Torque specs are for 28Nm and I’ve now snapped 2 bolts attempting to torque them down. See attached pics. Threads on both bolt and engine are pristine and when I remove the bracket I can take the broken half of the bolt out with my fingers. What’s up with this? The 28Nm doesn’t seem excessive to me. I’m shocked that the bolts a breaking like this. I can order new ones from my dealer but it will delay my completion of this job. Is this common???
My car will randomly have the entire Christmas tree lights come on

When I turn the car off and wait for like 15mins
They go away

The lights when I scanned it came as:

U0122 - Lost Communication with Vehicle Dynamics Control Module

P061a-Internal Control Module Torque Performance

I can’t seem to replicate the lights coming on, they randomly appear and after clearing them, the car works perfect and no issue but when they do come on, I have to pull over and turn the car off and just wait

My mechanic was stumped and didnt know how or what to do with it since I can’t replicate it at all.

Anyone have this issue or any idea what it could be?

Hi. I would like to make some upgrades to a 2013 Mercedes-Benz E350. I don't want to just go do things. I wanted to do some research and ask for advise first. I am thinking about increasing horsepower in a 2013 Mercedes-Benz E350. Any thoughts on ECU tuning, performance chips, hardware upgrades like turbocharger kits or intake systems? What do you think of piggyback modules like RaceChip GTS or software tunes to gain more power? Thank you and I am happy to be here.
