First oil change on the new to me S560. Everything went fine until it came time to check crank case oil level. The book says capacity is 9.5 quarts so that is what I poured in. Started the engine to check oil level and got a message saying oil level system not available at this time or words to that affect.
Waiting to the next day to check oil level again only to find the level is pinned above the MAX mark. Now I have a problem needing to put the car back up on the lift drain out some oil and check the level again. This could develop into a major PIA.
What am I doing wrong? What did I miss?

Am in the process of shopping for a Coupe to add to my garage. I will continue to daily drive a lux sedan that I have, but I have the extra space/spot ready now, and have couple options that I looked at over the past 3-4 weeks for a fun weekend Coupe. It must be a Coupe.

The non-Benz options I looked at are: new M8 Competition, low mileage CPO 2024+ Bentley Continental GT PHEV.

The Benz option that am highlight considering is the S65 AMG Coupe; they come standard with MBC on top of the AMG suspension tuning setup, 3D Burmester, and other standard options that are usually optional in the other trims. I believe, unlike the sedan, they made them until 2021. Finding one may take months and months of search as these are hard to find. My issue with the 9G transmission will go away because S65 (unlike S63) comed with the 7G instead of the 9G transmission.

I also thought about the SL as well as AMG GT (as I learned I can get rear seat with the GT), but I had two W222 sedans as my daily in the past; and it was one of the very best cars I ever had.....so at least in this case I know what am getting myself into, plus the V12 is undeniable nowadays.

Thoughts?

I am right at about 81k miles and havent had any significant repair issues in the 6 years Ive owned the car. Just wanted to know if anyone can recommend an OBD scanner that will work best for me to pull the code and do some research on the cause of the check engine light.. I will eventually take it to a Benz dealer but wanted to take some initial steps to get an idea of what I am dealing with.
So, I would appreciate any suggestions and recommendations on the OBD scanning tool that would be best to use at home for a non-mechanic such as myself.

I have the AMG line - I am lowered with BenzNinja and I am running summer tires - but I was looking to tighten up the suspension a little bit and hoped I could plug and play something or retrofit stuff off the S63 (within reason)

figured you guys may know something I don't know

Hey guys. I have a 2020 s560 4matic. Currently running Michelin pilot sport all season4 245/45/ ZR 19 in the front and 275/40/ ZR19 in the rear. I had a 2015 s550 4matic that was honestly way more comfortable this thing just feels so stiff over bumps. I don’t know tire pressures at the moment but they are around 40 like it suggests on the door jam sticker. Is the reason for the stiffness the zr tires since they’re rated for over 150 mph or is something else wrong. The car has about 79k miles but all suspension components look great. The only thing I can think of is the tires being the style I got makes it a lot stiffer. It does do wonders for handling this boat but I didn’t think about how it might affect the comfortability. I’m just not sure if it’s the tires or something else. Any tips or ideas are appreciated. I’m probably going to get another set of rims anyways so I’ll try other tires to see if that was part of the issue. Thanks in advance.

Easy question please: Is the S-Class made by a Mercedes' "A-team" or is quality build standard across all models? I know the S-Class uses higher-end materials, but from a quality perspective, are they built to the same standard?

I had a 2008 E350 which I absolutely loved. I can't imagine I'm going to trade in my 2018 S560 (it's low mileage and has been a dream), but they've got a fully loaded 2026 E450 in "my" color scheme I'd definitely consider (I'm non-mechanical so having a new car under warranty is appealing to me and I can't see affording a new S-Class). My kiddo would definitely prefer to have the S-Class back seat :). Any thoughts/advice appreciated please. Thanks!

Does anyone know if Mercedes-Benz’s battery maintainer/trickle charger 0009820221 is safe to use on a W222? I don’t drive much as I used to as I work from home. Also, I travel quite a bit for work - and that’s via car service or plane. This adds up to cars sitting garaged without a driver or place to go. Which is ripe for batteries that are slowly discharging until i am able to get behind the wheel.

I have had code P0348 “camshaft sensor high in xyz bank” pop up a few times recently (I understand low voltage can cause these codes to appear). Also, I’ve been receiving the message to start the engine (so alternator can do its work) after periods of non-use.

All of that led to the purchase of Mercedes charger above. I bought it a few months ago and haven’t used it. it was the only MB branded charger, which appeared to be a very respectable CTEK in Mercedes’ clothing. Reading some recent posts and want to ensure I’m safe to use before I go and hook up the alligator clamps to my battery.

Thanks in advance.
