It's on the front bumper inside of the turn/cornering lights. The driver side has a roundish insert but the pax side has nothing. At first I thought it was missing its opposite counterpart but looking at some pics of other '13 G's, it appears the panel has a crisscross insert. Does this crisscross thing do anything? Or is it just a part of the circular trim piece? The 3rd pic shows the back of the circular trim piece, and the bottom tab is broken. But it doesn't look like there is a missing covering (the crisscross pattern), so that leads me to believe that the crisscross thing is an actual functioning part.

I can't find menti9n of this in the owners manual. Any help is much appreciated.
Howdy. I replaced the cabin air filter and the tray that the filter sits in is missing. It's the tray that holds the filter and slides into the air box housing. I did an AI search and it gave me this part number (A4638300053) but searching for it on FCP Euro and MBParts.mbusa came up empty. Anyone have an idea? I will be calling the dealership parts department tomorrow but was hoping someone could direct me to this part so I can order it tonight and hopefully get it tomorrow.

Also, I changed the engine air filters and there were these thin filters that seemed not replaceable. What's odd is that I watched a couple of YT videos and I didn't see anyone else with these. Or it appeared they weren't present.

I'm about to do an oil and filter change, as well as most of the 120k mile B service and was collecting the parts...saw Liquid Moly's has a green oil that they tout as "new generation" and describe it as a Molecular Friction Control. Has anyone used this? Is it even authorized by MB? I know they can be strict with stuff like that. Any thoughts will be appreciated!

I forgot to mention, that it's for my 2013 G-550!

Hi All!

Before I start asking I will look around the forum for guides etc. I just thought I would say hello!

I am in the process of researching + purchasing a 2015-2018 G63 - I am not opposed to the 550 but I am planning on keeping this car as 1 of 2 daily drivers for a very very long time and thought I would opt for the AMG version.

This will be the wife's primary DD - she is coming from a Macan S, I will keep my Panamera Turbo for now but w/ 180k miles on the clock the gremlins are starting to pile up and I am considering changing my brand loyalty at this point given the direction Porsche seems to be going in... I have had my eyes on an S63 but given the amount of maintenance just done on the Panamera to keep it on the road - including the timing chain - I will let it ride for now.

I have had one AMG before (SL65) that gave me no trouble and was a fantastic car - but this was traded in years ago and we have been rotating through Porsche since with sadly, bad experiences...

After I have enough base knowledge to be respectable I will be back with questions - excited to be a part of the community - thanks in advance!

Contacted him with a specific question about speedo correction. First response back was a condescending "not sure I want to do a car that's been messed around with" I thought hmm that's ironic coming from a guy selling coding services. Variant coding is the definition of "messing around with"

He then asked for vin number than responded back with a most obvious "I know the answer, it will cost you $1000 and I make no guarantees" note. And staggeringly after all this, tried to sell me on his "lifetime membership" with a tacky infomercial that's straight out of 90s cable TV turned up to 11.

Total douche.

I’ve been looking to get into a G500 for the last couple of months.

some context; I would only drive this vehicle 2-3k miles a year. I have 2 other vehicles.

i came across an 02 California driven G500 with 250k miles. It’s had 2 previous owners and the current owner has had it since 2019.

In his ownership, he got all major components serviced, transfer case rebuilt and also recently regreased (not resealed) the front axle swivel *****.

he has provided good service records, and honestly I test drove it and it ran great during the drive.

cosmetically the interior is pretty good for its age and the exterior just has minor paint chips here and there.

i have since had it inspected - no drive train issues were noted. The only thing noted was that the suspension is still original. It appeared to be in decent shape, with minor sweating at the swivel *****. They recommended a suspension refresh soon (but not urgent), tie rod change and wheel bearing replacement. Other than that they said it doesn’t need anything.

i just wanted peoples opinions here. I feel like this might be too good to be true? but everything is checking out. the seller is also a private party, and he coms across as very honest - every issue he noted was corroborated by the PPI. He said he never had any issues during his ownership, and i do believe him.

I am prepared for the high maintenance costs and planning to refresh the front axles. Just wanted to understand if this a realistic scenario or is it more likely that something is hidden. I’ve never seen one with this high miles before.

I want to be able to enjoy it this summer before doing major work. Just worried about any safety issues or being stranded.

I also live in the Midwest - I want to also take steps to get it ready for its first ever Midwest winter.

Hello all,

I am new here, I tried searching for "seat belt retractor issue", but found nothing for the W463. If there is a thread for this exact problem, then I apologize and would be glad if someone could link it to me.

Here is the issue - previous owner got rear ended, all seat belts fired. Locked like a rock. I sent out the seat belts to be repaired in a reputable shop. Yesterday they arrived.
Both front seat belts would not pull out, there is maybe an inch of movement and then they lock up as if you're tugging on them too fast. Both rear belts would pull out, until I connected them to the SRS connector, once disconnected they also no longer pull out.
I am wondering if this is because the SRS fault in the vehicle and a simple reset would fix this issue or did the repair shop mess up?

If anyone has insight on this, would gladly appreciate it.

The front ends still feel reasonably “stiff,” but the ends on the rear rod can be moved easily with one hand. Are these worn out? What do you think? After 17 years, it wouldn’t be surprising.
The driveshaft makes an audible clunk when I twist it back and forth. Is that normal? I often feel and hear a “clunk” when downshifting, for example when coming to a stop at a red light.

Does anyone know what these two small parts are? They fell down when I removed the skid plate on my 2017 G63. They look like some kind of spring clips that might help reduce vibration between the skid plate and the chassis.

If anyone knows exactly what they are or how they should be installed, I’d really appreciate the help.

For now, I reinstalled the skid plate without them, but I’d like to put them back properly during my next project.

I have a 2015 Mercedes-Benz G550 W463 with a 5.5L V8. The car ran out of gas and died in the driveway. I added 6 gallons and it wouldn’t start. I then noticed a buzzing coming from a relay in the passenger footwell fuse box under the glove compartment. i have attached images below of a fuse panel diagram (which does not list the functionality of the relay I pulled) and my fuse panel. Part number on the relay is A0025428719.
This relay was buzzing even with the key out of the ignition and even after disconnecting the battery, waiting 30 minutes to reset the computer, and reconnecting it. I replaced it with the same part number, the car started and ran great for about a minute then died and the new relay was already buzzing and dead.

1. What circuit does this specific relay control in the passenger footwell fuse box on a 2015 G550? (See photos attached. Startmycar.com does not state function of this relay)

2. What would cause it to keep failing? could running out of gas maybe damage the fuel pump which is now killing the relays? If so, how can I test without killing my last good relay.

Photo of the fuse box and relay position circled in red attached below.

Any help or thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
