Oil pump solenoid failure

Hello- has anyone successfully connected a dummy solenoid on a 2018 E63s to address the oil pump solenoid failure? I has seen the big thread and know it can be fine in a w212, not sure about the w213.

Replacing Premium Burmester (810) tweeters

I might have jumped the gun, but I've ordered some OEM Burmester 3D tweeters, the type that rotate out when switched on, to replace my standard Premium (810) black tweeters.

I'm now wondering whether it is going.to be possible to fit them without a load of hassle and possibly needing other stuff? I note that the wiring is somewhat different to the Chinese clones.

Does anyone know, is it gping to be possible to fit these, or am I going to need extra bits in order to do so?

Has anybody performed a coolant flush and fill with M177 motor?

My 18 S63 has 56K miles and I had planned to perform a coolant flush and refill. I thought I would be able to find a full "how-to" video online but haven't seen one. Has anybody here performed the flush and fill? If so, is it pretty straightfoward? I know the vacuum bleed procedure is the prescribed method. Is it beyond DIYable? And, is it even necessary at this point??

I was researching an E63s sedan for purchase. I have quite the spreadsheet I use to download the data card options (or from the VMI) and then add these to a master matrix of all options down the left and every W or S213 I've researched.

The most recent car had a bunch of codes with no description in the VMI, so on a whim, I asked Gemini for help on a couple and it answered in a great format. So I asked it to make a spreadsheet of all the options I had on my list. It's fun reading the Technical Context it found. I have no idea if every item is correct, but it all reads as a serious, professional summary.

Got Rear Ended

I got rear ended tonight, I am very upset. The damages don�t seem very bad and everything works however I am very worried about the quarter panel since it is part of the structure and if it will ever go back to being the same.

Wheel Arch Extensions?

Wanted to get some opinions from the group...

Does anyone have experience or knowledge of "Wheel Arch Extensions", the small particular pieces that protect rocks from kicking up on rear fenders?

I've found what looks like factory pieces on ebay (part #s: A2058803524, A2058803624), but on the fence on whether they'd look good on our U.S. spec'd cars.

Curious to hear your thoughts. Thank you.

M177 Variants (engine codes) and Technical Differences

Anyone have a detailed breakdown of the differences between various M177 variants (engine codes)?

I’ve read that there are different engine codes, like LS1 and LS2. I’ve also seen other codes, like M177.880 found in the latest SL and AMG GT. Is there a comprehensive list that outlines the differences? Or does anyone know the differences? I know they’ll make slight changes or modifications and/or improvements from model to model or year to year? I also asked this same question in the C63 forum.

Hi all,

I've got a 2017 E43 Wagon which came with the factory option 20" wheels (20x8ET20 front, 20x9ET49 rear).

I am considering going to an 18" square setup, with 19" as a fallback position if I can't get 18" wheels I like to fit over the E43 brakes.

Current thinking is 18x9ET35 front and rear. The concern I have is if the wheels will fit over the E43 front brakes - offset/spoke design is not an issue, just the barrel diameter and the radius of the brake calipers.

Does anyone have good measurements (or better yet a brake caliper template)?

W213: heated wiper to magic vision

So I went ahead and replaced the OEM Windshield wiper system.

On an 2018 E63s Edition 1. The wiper system is heated both internally to the tank and the hose electrically.

the mod: i decided to replace the system with the magic vision system. Now there are two different flavors.

A. The real magic vision system is on the S class. It has a hub for both the ele tribal heating of the wipers and a block with valve to direct the water to fore or aft.

B. Magic vision in the E class convertible is much simpler. The motor that controls fore and aft spraying by changing directions ton of the motor. The heated wipers are plugged into a module that controls the heat.

Parts needed:
pair of E450 convertible wiper arms
E450 cowl for magic vision.
Hose from tamk to wipers
Washer spray motor with dual output.
for wiper heaters, need to source the heating module that both wipers connect to.. can not be sourced new. Has to be from a wrecked E class convertible.

Discoveries:
The ed1 E63s has option code 875 (heated Windshield washer system).

the smarts for both option code 875 and 874 ( magic system) are in the front SAM. This is where the motor reversing takes place along with force of spray.

Without coding, the spray is a bit to strong and of course the motor does not reverse so no spray on the way down.

What works:

the heater inside the hoses works fine.
the spray works on the way up.

What does not:

No spray on way down
No wiper heater
The spray is to strong. Needs to be coded for half since it is so close.

Coding out exhaust flaps on 2018 E63S

Hi all,

I recently started getting the dreaded exhaust flap issue on my 2018 E63S, classic symptoms of limiting power by about a third - only happens intermittently (at the moment).

I understand you can have a tuner code them out altogether, but I'm not having much luck finding someone who will do it without having a full CPC tune - which I'm not keen on paying for if I'm honest as I'd like to keep the car as stock as possible. However, I was wondering if anyone had any experience of using a remote tuner to do it via OBD2? I found that ZAC Motorsport will do it (like here: https://www.zacmotorsport.co.uk/prod...4-401296cf41a8, has anyone had any experience of this?

I'm also happy to visit somewhere to have it done (would be my preferred option) here in the UK, if anyone has any recommendations?

Tune for E53AMG 2021

I'm new to the forum and looking to do a tune that does not require me to take out my ECU and ship it. Is there a TUNE you all recommend that has been solid and proven over the years for a 2021 E53AMG? Looking for a Stage 1 for now that can be done via OBD and asking for suggestions.
