Is replacing only 2 tires (same axle?) Ok?

Unsurprisingly, my C450's front tires are very worn and need to be replaced, but the rears have plenty of tread left. Is it ok to replace only the front tires (would be same exact tire)? I keep reading different opinions. Some say you shouldn't because it could put stress on the differential and jack some mechanical things up. But some people say it is ok as long as you replace both fronts.

Was this ever answered?

Hi guys,

I am in QC Canada.

I came across a 2020 c43 amg 4 doors sedan that I like with a bit it less than 80 000 km on the odometer.

It seems like recommended maintenance was. I am awaiting for service records to confirm.

From what I can see:

- Exterior lighting package
- Driver's assistance package
- Multimedia package
- Parking Assistance package
- AMG Night Package
- AMG Dinamica Performance steering wheel
- AMG Performance front seats
- Digital instrument cluster
it has the button for the exhaust, so I assume
- AMG Performance Exhaust (is there a spec with a sport exhaust and a button to open valves?)

I have to give a call to MB Canada to get the full list of options

Is there a way to assess fair value?
I used clutch.ca but it doesn't accurately account for variance in options.

Seller is asking for 41.6k CAD

I think I can do between 38 and 40k CAD. Though 38k might seem/be too low.
I am not trying to low ball.
Am I being unrealistic or unreasonable?

Other questions:

Is an independent PPI good enough or should I take it to a dealership?

Hi,
I am new on the forum.

I am currently looking to buy a 2019 to 2022 C43 AMG.

I came accross a 2021 model today

I am in the province of Quebec in Canada and one of the options is confusing me.

In french it says:
Ensemble siège de conducteur AMG[C1]
Top speed raised to 250km/h, Rythme de piste AMG (My note: AMG track pace?)

It translates to AMG[1] Driver's seat package,
I wonder if it was an error in translation.

They can't seem to be able to pull the windoww sticker with the codes give me the details of the options like, for example:

DA1 AMG Driver's package.

Is AMG Driver seat package a thing?

It was already doing this before the oil change.
The oil is original Mercedes, the oil pan is aftermarket, the oil level is correct - done with xentry
After 1,500 miles, an adaptation was done, the adaptation values were fine, but it still does it now.

Will it be mechatronics bad? Xentry diagnostics is clean, no codes

I’m having a problem with my Mercedes C450 AMG. The car used to run fine, but for some time now, when I lift off the accelerator, there’s a noise coming from the left side of the engine, as if something were loose. At the workshop they told me it’s something related to the turbo — the linkage/rods — and that the turbo needs to be replaced.

Also, when I try to do a 0–100 launch, the car goes into limp mode and loses power. We even tried changing the tune/remap, but it still does the same thing. At this point I don’t know what else to do.

And to make matters worse, we changed the water pump and the thermostat, but sometimes the oil temperature and coolant temperature drop, and it takes a while for them to stabilize.
The car pulls well and accelerates strongly during normal driving. It regains speed without any problem. The issue only happens when I try to use launch control.

I feel really frustrated. I keep replacing parts, but we still can’t figure out what the problem is. I’m from Spain.

I came out yesterday morning to find a small oily puddle clear ish fluid just inside and infront of my driver side front wheel. I was swapping my summer wheels so when car was jacked up and wheel off could not see anything leaking or wet ? Thought it might be shock but it’s dry and I don’t have any lights on dash , suspension button working normally. The car is riding extremely rough / harsh so wondering what else in the front end suspension may have fluid filled bushings etc. I have an appt to bring it in to get checked out but wanted to see if anyone has any thoughts or experience with same. Thanks

I have 2 sets of tires and when I got my new set the noise was gone but about 10k miles in the noise came back. The noise literally starts from 1 mph on up getting higher in frequency as speed increases. Has anyone experienced anything like this? I took it to a shop and they insisted it had to be the tires. I'm sort of convinced it's the bearings but I don't know. I'm almost willing to swap out the rear bearing but don't know how hard it is on this car.

Hi everyone,

Like a lot of other folks that own this car, I'm running into some issues with my OEM 19" AMG wheels. My car uses a staggered setup and given how low profile the tires are, along with the very stiff suspension, it's very easy to crack and bend these wheels. I hit a pothole twice and cracked my front-right rim twice, bending it the second time along with a new crack. I got a band-aid solution done by welding the rims twice and re-straightening them the second time, but now I'm running into issues again.

My car uses the following setup:

Tires

Front: 225/40 R19

Rear: 255/35 R19

Rims

Front: 19x7.5, offset 44mm*

Rear: 19x8.5, offset 56mm*

* the offset values were measured by America's Tire when they were replacing the tires on my rims.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what rims to get here? Preferably a place selling it within the US, my budget is around $1500.

Thanks!

Goose honking noise at start up?

Got one for the experienced esteemed forum members: After my recent fun with an impromptu replacement of an AOS & crankcase breather pipe assembly, my gal has taken to making 3 quick goose honks on cold start cranks coupled with a surge/stutter of rpms - about about 2 seconds of initial crank. The "honks" are low & bass tones in quick succession; each quieter than the first. It occurs before the pressure build up in the VVTI. The cold start idle up is normal on RPMs, except for the honks (burps? blats?) that happen like mini strokes and then the motor settles slowly into regular idle with no other weirdness. Everything else is normal post start up too. I did find two screws loose on the metal o-ring clamps that affix the plastic intake to throttle body, but the goose honks did not go away after tightening those suckers down.

Warm or hot starts do not create any honks or hiccups. I can start the car after 8 hours of sitting and it doesn't make honks. Walk out to the car the next morning (after sitting 13 hours): it friggin honks on cold start.

Any ideas? I'll be having the resident shade tree mechanic throwing my car up on his lift for an in-depth inspection later this week. Barring that outcome, next stop will be the local MB Indy shop.

I'll try to see about recording it for those who love M276 mystery noises.

5,000 mile oil (& filter) change intervals observed with M1 Euro Syn 5W-40 SQ rated. No (noticeable) oil loss between changes and no drop in fuel economy apparent. No codes stored. Now at 164,440 miles.
