Are we crazy, or do these actually have different paint on them? I got the car new with less than 20 miles on it in Oct 2025. 2026 C43, Obsidian Black Metallic. :confused:
Grok says it's just the difference between the metal body and plastic bumper.

Hello everyone!

Hello everyone!

I have a C-Class S206 C300e with VIN W1K2062541F044374, and I’m a bit stuck trying to find the exact shock absorber code that matches my car.
After doing some research, I understood that I may have 485, 486, or 677 suspension:

485 = comfort suspension.

677 = lowered standard suspension / Agility Control.

486 = sport suspension.

The problem is that my VIN is not recognized by several online VIN decoding platforms (because it is new i think) , so I can’t figure out exactly which reference I need to order.

If anyone can help me decode the datacard or confirm the correct shock absorber type, that would be really appreciated.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help!

Two weeks ago, my W206 (C180, built in the summer of 2023) was in a rear-end collision due to tailgating in a small town in Greece. The driver that caused the accident was following way to close to me for a couple of minutes and when traffic came to a halt, she didn't brake at all. The collision was intense and my car moved forward at least half a meter despite being braked. I was lucky that I had enough space from the car in front of me and that her car was very low so she collided with my rear bumper only, which was cracked along with the plastic parts underneath. Now, I am waiting for the new bumper and the plastic parts to arrive, the latter from Germany. At the dealership, they told me that there are no error messages, that they will re-calibrate my sensors, and will check for further damage after removing the bumper.

My question is if there is something to check in particular in addition to the above.

Any suggestions and advice would be appreciated.
