Hey guys,

I recently bought a 2022 S580 with about 12,000mi, and so far I love the car, the spec is what I wanted, however I can’t help but be driven crazy by some of the cabin noise present in the car.

I’d like some advice if anyone’s dealt with these before, so I could know the possible causes and find a solution.

The most notable ones, in order from “driving me the most crazy” to least

1. Driver side dashboard creaks
If the road is less than perfect, or if I’m accelerating/decelerating, at any speed (highway or parking lot speeds), there is a constant repetitive creaking coming from the driver’s side dash. It’s subtle, sounds plasticky, and gosh it pisses me off. Any brake/gas application will trigger it
2. Read right rattle over bumps
Over certain bumps, a rattle coming from the rear right can be heard, a heavy-sounding rattle. Not sure if it’s mechanical or in the cabin. I do have power rear seats if that’s a factor
3. Overhead panel buzzing/ringing noise
This one is a bit curious to me. It’s a constant buzzing/ringing noise in the overhead console panel, but when I move my hand near it, it stops. Over certain bumps the buzz increases in frequency very briefly. I assume it somehow is linked to the gesture/proximity sensors because it stops when my hand is near it. I had a thought of simply putting tape to put an end to this, but I would love any more elegant solutions
4. Loose metallic sound in the rear driver side (door?) area when I take a turn
basically just sounds like loose nuts rolling around inside something when I take a turn. No clue what it is. I assume it’s in the door card.

if you’ve dealt with any of these issues before I’d love to hear what your solution was and what the cause was. Thank you so much for the help!

I came across which I have never seen before on a carfax that a MB dealer just certified a '24 S580 and it states on the carfax that paint protection was applied.... Should this be a red flag as this car is in Kentucky and I keep asking myself why would I dealer do this? Has all the options I"m looking for except the 3d package which I can live without since I rarely ever need navigation anyway. I'll be contacting dealer today about the paint protection, but wanted to get everyone's thoughts on why this was added and maybe they could be trying to hide something. Thanks for any advice!

I have a 2022 S580 V223 AMG line and was going through the settings in the MBUX system. I got to Assistance > Assistance where it shows:

Traffic Sign Assist

Traffic Light View

ATTENTION ASSIST

But in my case, the Traffic Sign Assist is disabled and when I tap on it, a small pop up appears which states Function Unavailable, as shown in the attached image.
This guy has a tool for everything and was very methodical in his restoration of a S500 with almost 100,000 miles.

I want to believe that my dealer is this thorough when he does my A and B service. That’s what I want to believe.

Wondering if anyone with a 2022 S580 4Matic AMG has run into this.

My Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Distance Assist, and Active Blind Spot Assist are all showing “inoperative” and have been completely offline for about three days now. Normally, if I ever get a driver‑assist warning, it clears on its own after a restart or two, but this time it’s stuck.

What’s odd is I first noticed everything drop out after the car sat for around four hours in really strong direct sun, and it hasn’t come back since. Multiple ignition cycles later, nothing has reset.

Hi,

I have a 2018 S560, that has been really good to me over the last 8 years. Given the extended warranty has expired roughly a year ago, while waiting for the facelift to come out, I am thinking it is time to replace it. They also stopped supporting all the "assistance" items in the car (there is no security or connectivity package renewals available anymore). Given that I also have a 2021 GLS450 and just scratched the summer cabriolet itch with a 2026 911 Turbo S Cab, I am looking at another luxury sedan.

Following the discussions on this forum, looks like i7 facelift could also be an interesting contender, with pros of being EV (which will make me feel a bit better next to all the other gas guzzlers I have), lease advantages like with any other BMW (I swore not to buy another one and only lease the brand going forward, and I do not see that changing, especially for an EV), and apparently comfort (as in soft ride), based on the comments made here. The con is, it does not have the 3-pointed star, and the 3 BMWs I owned previously (3-5-7 in various years) were not as reliable as my current S-Class.

The other two candidates are the facelifted S580 and S580e, which I know are two very different items. There is also a less popular thought of purchasing the S580 and leasing an i7, but I do not think I put that many miles on cars a year to justify owning 4 for just one person, and one of them would need to live outside the garage (most likely the GLS450, or the leased i7), as I only have room for three...

I wanted to ask and hear what fellow forum members would do if they were in my situation. And also wanted to find out when these vehicles would be available for order and more importantly delivery. I appreciate any help.

It’s a brand new 2025 with 36 miles on the odometer and I got over $30k off in total. It was a custom order that was backed out of. I’ve received so many compliments just in the few stops I did on the way home from the dealership. It’s epic and I love it. Not missing the S Class and I intend to DD this.
https://www.burmester.de/en/automoti...s-high-end-4d/

Just a polite note - debating audio systems never ends well. It's like arguing about which car is better but audio nerds (like me) get insanely territorial so I'm just going to lay out the white flag and state that I love this 4D system. It does Dolby Atmos while none of my other cars do but here's what I found interesting.

It's 31 "speakers" on this system, but there's a catch. 8 are "exciters" which are inside seat speakers which I will argue is a gimmick but hey, like I said, I could be wrong. So, let's do some quick maths and smile.

31-8 is 23. Why is this interesting? Because back in 2019 when Audi launched the Bang and Olufsen Advanced 3D sound system, they took it to a new level of 23 speakers. So this basically tells us OEMs can't stick any more speakers in the size of an executive sedan due to interference! I do find it interesting the B&O maxes out at 1920W but the Burmester is ~1600. That's strange. I will state that I do use all 1920W though I'm fairly certain my ears died 7 years ago :D

I'd love to learn more about the actual bitrates through this 4D system. Atmos sounds cool. I mean it's faux Atmos no doubt because real Atmos needs a gazillion speakers in a home theatre setup but no doubt streaming Atmos means there is real 'height' so the sound system hence the 4D name. If it's like the last Burmester system I heard on the 222, the one on the 223 must be forking brilliant. *brilliant*. The Mark Levinson system on the LS500 is...probably though, still going down as one of my favourite reference audio systems on any car that has ever existed.

However as an audiophile I think the safe thing to state is that these top tier systems all appear to different ear types and they are all insanely good.

Looking for insight from anyone who owns / drives the w223 S63.

When pulling away or coming to a stop, I often get a click / clunk from the rear of the car as it starts / stops. Happens just at the moment of pulling away or coming to a halt. Almost sounds like something heavy rolling around in the trunk, but I’ve checked there are no loose items anywhere in the car. Feels like it happens as the drivetrain shifts from stationary to being under load, as I can minimise / remove the noise if I move off or come to a halt very very smoothly.

I did read a UK Autocar magazine review that stated “This hybrid driveline is also noisy at times, clicking and clunking in a way that makes the car feel fragile, even if it is just business as usual mechanically.”

Wondering if anyone on the forum has experienced this? I’m less concerned if it’s just a “characteristic”
of the car and a compromise of having it handle the huge power and torque.
What are your thoughts buying cars from this far north with all the heavy salt on roads or I am just being super paranoid. She feels when buying a truck to be more concerned versus a luxury sedan. Thoughts.....
