Hi all, I posted this a bit ago in the AMG GT forum.

I purchased a Renntech RPM module, and blow off valves for my GT 63 earlier this year, which brought the power from 577HP to 725HP. It was worth the money in my opinion and def woke up the GT 63 on the top end.

Renntech had mentioned to me and many others that their piggy back modules are VIN locked, which sounded odd to me, but I decided to be a test dummy on my new G63 to see if it would work, and surprisingly it does work. Renntech wants you to have to buy a new unit if you get a different car, or not be able to sell your RPM to someone else if you no longer want it. Anyway...

Ive seen No issues, it's been on the new G63 for a couple weeks. No CEL, no problems, not to say it may not have issues down the road, but I also dont plan on keeping the module on the G63, it was more or less a test to check if Renntech was full of sh** and looks like they are.

It works on my GT63 Coupe AND my 2025 G63. Maybe because both are newer generation of the motor? Not sure.

Just keep in ming, this could affect warranty on the car, and if you're concerned about motor issues with a "tune" those are certainly valid. But I will say, the piggy backs just trick sensors and are supposed to stay with in the factory tolerances that for boost and timing etc. That doesn't mean you'd never have issues, but, personally, I have never had an issue with any piggy back on any car ive put them on. It's only the full blown re-map of the ECU where ive seen issues with motors blowing, and turbos not being able to handle. Take that FWIW, and again, in no way am I saying no one will ever have an issue, but if youre looking for some more power out of your G63, my Renntech module for a 2024 GT63 works fine on my 2025 G63. Will it always be that way ? Tough to say, and I dont plan on keeping the G63 tuned for long. It's much more useful on the GT.

Cheers :-)

I figured it would be fun to try out an airstream with my 2021 G550. Curious if anyone has any experience.

Size would be a 16-19ft Bambi or Caravel, just for weekend tootling with the dog.

Hi all - ordered a G63 today. Would love any feedback on my build, my SA seemed to struggle a little bit converting my build from MBUSA.com to the internal system so I just want to make sure that everything transferred over correctly.

Currently have a Cayenne Turbo with Cohiba leather and thought saddle would be similar, but debating switching to espresso as a darker brown might be nice. Really want to make sure I’ve got the diamond stitching on the seats and leather on the dash/door, as well as the new suspension. My build sheet says matte carbon fiber but the online build just said carbon fiber, does anyone have photos of either they can share?

Let me know if there’s anything I’m missing that’s a must have. I thought about the cherry trunk inlay but worried it would get scratched to hell. Thanks!

I have a few months and 1,500 miles on our 2026 G63 and I can’t find a comfy seating position without getting a sore butt. I have tried tilting the bottom of the seat all the way up and all the way flat and have tried sitting closer and farther away and still can’t find a great position. I have a 911 Turbo S with the 18 way seats and they are pretty comfy. Even my GMC Denali HD seats are pretty comfy. How long did it take you to get comfy and any recommendations on position? I am 5-10 165 pounds.

I backed into the house garage and the spare wheel holder got squeezed into the tail gate.

It’s an aluminum tailgate so that paintless dent removal place said they will remove the glass first, then remove interior tailgate trim and hammer out the dent + the spare wheel holder

Not the most simple repair but they are 90% confident they can do it without damaging the paint. No current paint damage but the rear camera cover hits the spare wheel covers every time the rear camera is activated as the space between them is less now due to the moving of the spare wheel inward.

Anyone have personal experience with this?

I have both options available - paintless dent removal or a brand new tailgate

Just trying to better understand the pros and cons before deciding

Thanks

The 2025+ G63 models have a different star emblem on the front grill. On my 2020 G63 the star was able to be removed by sliding a credit card behind the emblem and it popped out but it now seems that the star clips on to a backing plate and the backing plate is attached to the grill. Does anyone know how to remove the star/backing plate?

Trying to replace with the illuminated star (the new VPC option but which is compatible with 2025+ models). If anyone has instructions for install, would be much appreciated.

Hello everyone,

I've noticed a few posts here discussing parking clearance. Many people have mentioned that a 6'5" clearance is insufficient and potentially risky. At my workplaces, there are two garages with a stated clearance of 6'6". I drove through one of them with 21-inch tires, and while it felt a bit tight, I didn’t encounter any issues.

I’m curious—has anyone here actually had problems with a garage that lists its clearance as 6'6"?

Thanks!

Well folks, that didn't take long. After only a 600 mile honeymoon, the object of my blissful automotive affection has fallen from grace. I was about halfway to Houston for an appointment yesterday when the display told me I had a 48v battery failure, impaired power, and I better pull over and stop the engine for fear of overheating. Also, a small yellow turtle appeared and the ac ceased to function. I limped on to my appointment and after went and cranked her up. Started ok, ac worked, turtle gone, but now displaying a check engine light. Off to the dealer, where they took it in and ubered me 60 miles home. Lets just say now I'm not a big fan of the Nissan Rogue. Service called me late yesterday, said they tested all sorts of stuff and were going to change the 48v battery and test all the electrical systems again. I'm waiting on their call to see how all that went. Anyone else have a problem like this?

2016 G550 M176 intercooler aux pump not running after wiring repair, power wire dead

Hey guys, working through an electrical issue on my 2016 G550 (M176, W463) and could use some help.

Background: had a wiring harness near the driveshaft that got chafed and severed, three wires going to the intercooler auxiliary coolant pump. Repaired the wiring and the pump bench tests fine and spins normally with direct 12V.

Problem is the pump still isn't running installed. Tested at the connector with engine running and the green signal wire shows 11V so the PTCU is working I think, brown ground is solid at 0V and has continuity, but the pink power feed wire is essentially dead and reading close to zero. Getting PTCU codes U02A900 and U02A987 (coolant pump communication fault) and U121887 (switchover valve message missing) all current.

Looking for any advice on how to diagnose this further. Is the pink wire a constant 12V feed or is it switched by the PTCU? Is there a fuse or relay protecting this circuit and if so where is it? Could the PTCU itself be withholding power for some reason?

Posting some pics of the repair area. Any help appreciated.
I am also looking at the cargo net on the rear drives side in the back cargo area. Is that easy to remove? The replacement part isn't much.

Curious what everyone is hearing so far—any updates from your dealers? Has there been any indication of expected MSRP? Also wondering if the G will adopt a variation of the new M177 Evo flat-plane crank V8.

Finally, does anyone have insight into when production might begin?
