First time posting. Got my new to me SL63 and discovered in the arm rest an old style flip phone holder with an elastic band (2318230611). German engineering at its finest. Sigh. This 2017 with CarPlay/Android Auto deserves better! So I designed a replacement that will take an Apple MagSafe Charger (15 watt version). In the passenger foot well is a 12 volt outlet. Plug in a high power USB-C, run a USB-C extension cord under the center console back to the cavity behind the phone charger et voila. This part is designed for a compression fit using a tab that slips underneath the facing and covering the same cavity used by the legacy phone holder. 3D designs posted here.
