I just changed out my 06 CLK fuel sender with a URO part to fix the known problem with the sender cracking and leaking. Everything seems to work but the gas gauge is not normal. The car has 1/2 tank but on startup, it reads 1/4. After about 3-4 miles, the gauge reads 1/2. I'm concerned that it has something to do with fuel not being transferred side to side correctly.

I had 2 seemingly unrelated issues installing the new sender. 2 of the hoses are a larger diameter so they won't both clip into the spot on the fuel pump. As they are just pointing back to the fuel pump, I tie wrapped them in place. The other thing is the sender pressure sensor has a different connector than the car. You can only buy the sender with a connector that has the pins inline. MB sells an adapter the connects the sensor to the car plug with has the pins in a triangle arrangement. The online parts sellers don't mention that but it's in the margin notes on the MB parts computer.

Good afternoon all. I own a 2008 CLK550. I've had it since 2010. My HVAC controller seems to be malfunctioning. Sometimes it works just fine, other times I can hear the blower doors begin to move and it will stop blowing through the dash vents, and through the floor and defrost vents. After a few minutes, it'll switch back. This is a summer-use car only, so I don't know if the same occurs with the heat selected.
So - any recommendations, or do any of you know of a source to either; rebuild my original unit, or replace with a used/remanufactured unit.

Thanks

Hi,

I've just purchased a lovely Convertible CLK280 2009.

It's main challenge is that the remote switch only works right up close to the drivers lock and FM radio doesn't work.
The internet, which is ALWAYS right says this is because of a faulty Antenna Amplifier, but check the No 8 7.5Amp fuse first.
The fuse seems okay, which fits with the fact the remote fob does work, if only right next to the drivers door.

Silly me thought that it would be easy to find the antenna amplifier in the boot/trunk. After 4 hours, I managed to unscrew the 17 torx bolts that hold the metal cage in the boot in place but the only part relevant part number A211 870 18 85 which is something to do with the non-existant bluetooth control unit.

Serching ebay generate two possible Antenna Amplifier numbers - A215 830 03 75 and a2158201975

Can anybody help me find the real location of this Antenna Amplifier?

Thanking you in advance.

greetings,

I'm new here, and I have bought from a good friend of mine a 05 CLK 500 convertible for 2000 cash with 145k on its engine. its in great mechanical condition, the interior needs some work but i digress.

i am having issues with finding a step by step tutorial or even someone who may be experienced with replacing the ambient air sensor in the bumper of the passenger side of the car. I am working on modernizing my CLK 500 a bit, so any tips or info to help me on my journey as a enthusiast that fell in love with this car after driving it for 3 days and I'm committed.

thank you again to everyone!

My right rear window won't roll up all the way, and it no longer makes a little move when you close the door. I have tried recalibrating, but the window still does not close all the way. The window still moves up and down, but does not do the final little close. It also sits a little higher when the window is fully lowered. It also appears the trim on the side of the window has slipped or moved and is not seated like the driver's side. All of this started when I closed the convertible top.

I've owned my '09 550 since new. Around 80k now. Have been annoyed by these noises for many years and could never get them to stop no matter what I replaced or lubed on the suspension. Then a couple weeks ago the wheel shop that welds cracks in the front wheels (Houston potholes) refused to repair again as too many. So I replaced the wheels with after-market from Discount Tire. They actually got them from Tirerack. All those noises went away. The stock wheels or maybe just one must have had enough wear in some place, maybe at the axle hub that caused movement and knocking. Maybe my imagination but drives so much better and looks better too. Bought the MSW Type 31 18 X8.5 5-112.00 35 BKGLXX for the rear PN W19412500TGB and the 18 X7.5 5-112.00 33 BKGLXX for the front PN W19410500TGB in gloss black. No issues with the slight difference in offset. Cost ~$1000 installed. Needs a hub centric ring for each to compensate for the hub diameters. At 1st they used plastic and the wheels started wobbling at 50+ mph. They replaced with aluminum and all's great. I didn't like the MSW center hub caps so I bought black ones from this guy on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/4358501...2%3A4358501008

Leaking hydraulic fluid on the driver's rear side

Also, my window's regulator on the same side, the driver's rear side, is busted. I said it's busted because every time I refill the hydraulic fluid and try to flip open the convertible top, the red circle side is alway wet with hydraulic fluid. So if I'm going to be opening up the driver's side rear windows and chair, I may as well just fix the whole thing. The problem is, I don't know what's the part for the convertible that need to be replaced. I went to the Tophydraulic website, and it's showing a slew of info, and I'm not sure which one to choose.

Any advise before I start venturing to try to fix it. I'm not sure how much my back can handle it trying to fix the damn thing. I'll probably explore paying someone else to fix it but it's a 2005 car and the cost for fix it in my area is about the same as the car's worth. Anyway, any advise?

I want to start the engine to run the power steering so that the Tracer ink shows. Also to bleed the system after I fix it.
How crazy is this? Will it even start if it can't verify that the transmission is in park? I saw Anderzen mention doing this to check for rear main seal leak after a repair. I don't know if he actually did it or not though. I also have done the RMS, so it would be a bonus to verify that.
