Any opinions on the squared in black opal. Looks to be more bluish than black.

My local dealer has had a 2016 Black Opal G550 on the lot for something like 6+ months now that they can't seem to sell. In less light (overcast day, night), it looks black, in other light it's a fairly dark blue. But it can also have a purple cast to it, which might be the problem.

I owned a C Class for 11 years that was Black Opal and I loved the color. It does change color depending on the time of day. I know my wife has thought about painting her G in that color. There are a lot of silver and black G class's around here.

I was a bit hesitant about the color because I've neither owned it nor seen it. I am very happy I jumped at. It's the only black opal 4x4 squared in the entire US.

I saw an online add for a 'Black' G500 2 months ago but when I looked closer at the picture, i asked the dealership is somebody color blind when they put in the color in the add as I clearly saw it kinda dark blue. The picture was taken when it was not really sunny either but i was pretty sure it was dark bluish. Most Gwag's are either Black, and Silver and maybe White here in Cali so this color is RARE! I have been shopping, looking online for a solid year and when this add popped up in Seattle, I called the dealership right away and flew out with an intent to buy. When I saw the car in person, I was completely Blown Away! This color is what me and my friends would always call 'Gun Metal BLUE' and needless to say I said I DO! and drove it home like a kid in a candy store! Listing for when you register is accurate is Black except it is officially called Black Opal. When it is sunny like most of the time here in San Diego, you see specs of blue and its an Amazing color!

just bought yesterday for my wife the G63 on black opal with designo deep see blue interior.
By far the best combination I have seen on the G in years.
The only other color I would probably consider will Be any granite/ graffiti with grey black interior.

Ive had my whip for only a few months, and its amazing how much of a head turner it is.

Yesterday, someone just blatantly just ignored traffic behind him and slowed down enough to pace with me, just to ask me if I had it painted. I quickly replied that it was an original paint and its called Black Opal. Took off with a Thumbs up and thanked the guy for the compliment..

Ordered a 2018 G63. Wanted something different than shades of gray. Was thinking Black Opal with Night Package. Do owners with Black Opal now think Night Package works? Thanks!

I went completley against the grain on mine then with metallic grey graphite....

Graphite grey, it's great and has a very slightbit of green in the grey as it's highly metallic.....
