Reputable SF Bay area mechanics?

Unfortunately, my CPO warranty covers everything excepts the rattles, which is very important part of G ownership. The dealers are useless when it comes to rattles unless the car still has warranty that covers it.

When I lived on the east coast, there was one great mechanic that lived in New Jersey who knew Gs in and out and would spot/fix any rattle within 30 minutes worth of work.

Is there an equivalent mechanic who can get rid of rattles without charging insane hours? Also, ideally who can do A/B service and any other maintenance work.

Collies Automotive in San Rafael is where I take my G55 now that I'm out of warranty. They work on a lot of Gs and know all the common issues and the more esoteric issues. (415) 721-7915

Just called them to setup an appointment and was told that they dont specialize in rattles but on mechanical parts like failed window regulators. Is the receptionist clueless and I should still bring in to talk to mechanic directly? I am still planning to bring it over for the A service that is very reasonably priced there.

Call OCTANE Mercedes on 10th St... the owner Randy is great to work with, super knowledgeable and he drives a G himself too. His whole team are former factory dealer techs and meticulous.

i will say, I used to use Collie Autoworks and Darren Collie is equally great, but San Rafael is a trek from the city, once I found Octane, never looked back. BTW, the Service Manager at MB of SF originally relayed me to Octane

Didn't know about Octane. San Rafael is a bit of a hike from SF so I'll have to check them out.

Thanks for the recommendation! I have heard of Collie but it is a trek, good to know Octane is nearby

I did go to Octane. They did service B for me and tried to remove rattles. He removed maybe 40% and they came back 2 weeks later. I brought it back twice and he never fixed any of them - car returned the same basically.

Anyone else? I heard about this place in Fremont called Ariana Body Shop - they claim they specialize in G-wagens and can do rattles too.

Collie auto works in San Rafael..., Darren Collie is a factory trained Master Tech and specifically the former W463 specialist at RAB motors.

the door rattles have a lube you can put on that makes the squeeks go away. needs to be reapplied regularly.
