I am fairly well-connected to some at MBZ and, although I am excited about getting this vehicle and have gone toe to toe with MBUSA before(returning a new GTS for a full replacement) I do not think that Corporate in Georgia can do anything about this and if even a regional rep says anything different I would call BS on that too. It is for sure an issue in the States and an issue with the government only made worse with the shutdown. If you doubt that I had 3 tankers enter Galveston over the weekend without Coast Guard Certificates and was told it would require 72 hrs just to get inspections set up rather than the normal 24. This is not some gasbag with an emissions tube waiting to recheck emissions but the US Coast Guard so I can imagine the delays at the VPC due both to the holidays and the shut down. To those who are considering dropping their orders YES you can be assured that your dealer with be 20 deep with a waiting list of FIRM ORDERS from other buyers. This I can guarantee you 1000% and for the ED 1 you do not even want to know the depth of the buyers cuz some of the dealers over-pledged them and are scrambling just to get more than one allocation to their own dealer and NO DEALERS will cough one up.
