First, they forgot to swap out the spare, so they pulled it right before I took the pics. I put on a 245/60R20 on for the spare, which appears to be a decent diameter match for the larger tires. After a trip to ACE hardware and almost spendig a whopping $2, the spare cover is mounted as pictured below.
Second, the new tires are noticeably stiffer. Sport mode was my default for suspension, but I changed it to comfort on the way home. The G no longer feels like an S Class. The G now feels like a truck. Now I just need to find an excuse to head out to more rural area.

Can we are more pictures of the larger spare tire mounted on your G?
Does it interfere with your rear view camera?
Is it staying together? I found on my 16’ G63, if that collar wasn’t lined up just right and cranked down tight, that decorative rear plate would back out.
Thanks, and glad to see you’re enjoying your G550!
My MY2020 G63 with the new Trail Package currently has a production timeframe for 3rd decade of September 2019. I will post some pics when my ship arrives!
A picture of a MY2020 G63 equipped with the AMG Trail Package (DE8) is shown in the current DOG, on p 79. While it appears that this car has the Night Package, my salesman thinks this is likely a European model, as per the disclaimer on p 1 of the DOG, which says "...For illustrative purposes, some images may show vehicles with European Specification..." Unfortunately, for USA 2020 G63's equipped with the new AMG Trail Package, we get the RG7 wheels with AT tires, but it says no Night Package, thus the silver brush bar. Sigh...
Wow, I hope not. A user review on the Tire Rack site says that tire is not so good on snow, as the snow gets jammed into the treads, and won't come out. Another reviewer said it is terrible for driving on compacted plowed snow roads. If these user reviews are accurate (and internet reviews are not the best source of info), yipes, this tire is not going to be the cat's meow for my needs. However, when I look at the picture of the G63 with TP on p 79 of the 2020 DOG, from the side profile view, its AT tires look to have more aggressive treads than this thing. I sure hope so. OTOH, given the speed delimiter did not get kicked out with the TP option, I suspected its tread pattern might be pretty tame. Otherwise, hopefully I can find the same size MT mudder tire that would have the same diameter, so no recal of speedo and odo needed. Fingers crossed!
BTW, jghuman, what is your production date for your 2020 G63 with TP?

I’m currently on a road trip with my motorhome & motorcycle, so I can’t add any G pics right now.
You are correct that greater care is needed to ensure alignment, if anything for a better asthetic, but rear plate has been secure without the least bit of movement.

Looking at the specs of the tire, it does have a speed rating of 149 MPH. Might be a fairly modified version of the tire based on MB specific requirements. Even the country of manufacture is Germany (v. Brazil for most of the other sizes.)
I guess we will have to wait and see!
JetRanger, I have a Sept 2019 2nd decade build date confirmed.

OK, thanks for doing this AT tire research, jghuman. The 149MPH sustained speed rating confirms this AT tire has a very, very light duty tread on the "aggressiveness" scale. Also confirms the new AMG Trail Package will need those 20 inch RG7's to get more suitable AT tires mounted on them immediately after arrival.
jghuman, you are one decade ahead of me, as I am 3rd decade of Sept, so I hope we will see your G63 Trail Package pics when your vehicle arrives!
