For those interested, and leery about drilling holes in their rig, I located a magnetic gun mount that lines up with the screws already in place for the carpeting on the driver side. I have an '04 G500, so I'm not 100% sure it's the same case for later models. I used two mounts to be cautious, but one would easily suffice.
