2019 G63 sale pulled twice
I have had my name on an Edition 1 for 4 months at MSRP. When the car arrived earlier this week they told me that is was no longer mine and that they would be taking bids on it. I moved on to another dealer and made a deal at MSRP only to have the same thing happen again today. Pretty disappointing since I specifically asked both dealers if the car was 100% mine and they assured me that it was. Needless to say I am looking again. Any suggestions where I can find one. I am not paying over MSRP. Thanks.

Wow, did you have a deposit on it?

With the amounts they can charge over msrp I'm not surprised. Its not cool but, even if you're a great customer they would shelf your order for someone going 50k+ over

I asked if i need to put a deposit and they said no.

I've bought many of AMG'S, just be patient and they'll come down in 3-6 months......go to a smaller market if you're in a large market. I've heard there going $50K-$75K over, these things will get crushed in the next year. I'v yet to meet a 100% honest dealer...

Sorry to hear that, very bad business practice. https://www.mercedesct.com/new/Merce...76bf42b987.htm |
Without a deposit the car isn't actually "yours". I gave $2500 the day I submitted my build. In fact my dealer wouldn't submit the build without it. Where are you, L.A.? Ha. (nothing against Californians, just seems to be a lot of stuff going on over retail out there!)

I didn't pay a deposit and the GM were able to get another E1 from another dealer and now it's in my garage. |
Agree but those dealers are few and far between, I have a Chevy dealer that's good to go but I probably bought 20 vehicles from him over the past 10 years

SoCal Dealers
Sorry (but not surprised) to hear once again about shady dealer practices...Mercedes could address this problem, but won't.
My dealer of 10 years tried to back out of my MSRP order yesterday....My Sales Advisor put his job on the line and told the GM that I was told it would be at MSRP and he provided me with written documentation stating such...This business strategy really only exists (at this level) in California...too many new customers willing to overlook deplorable sales tactics...The old adage "One born every minute"...should be updated to "Someone in California will buy it"...I would suggest calling MB North America...take 15 minutes to voice your experience...maybe waiting for a 2020 or 2021 g63 is a good thing... Mercedes is known for using 1-2 years of new vehicle development / testing on its customers... |
The dealer even sent me an invoice with VIN and MSRP price. Do I have any legal course to hold them to the deal they promised me?

For all the Car Salesmen about to defend the dealers ability and their right to charge whatever they want or can get...Remember these same people will be servicing you car, your loan, safe guarding your financial information, etc...Do you think these people are honest and trust worthy in other areas of the business and suddenly develop ethics and a conscience and do they right thing? Of course they do not...morally bankrupt people are morally bankrupt in all areas of their lives...these people are the ends justify the means people....and yes this impacts Mercedes Benz...warranty work cost is inflated, out-of-warranty work costs soar to people driving cars out of warranty...Dishonest people cost everyone money...they are thieves and con men avoiding their taxes etc...driving exotic cars without legal registrations and putting Oregon plates on expensive cars and motorhomes to avoid sales tax.... Without a sign pre-order contract and $ deposit with your name in Nestar, you have no case.
