My son saw a new G wagon in Destin, Florida that sustained mayor damage after being hit by an SUV. According to my son the front end was pushed back onto the windshield. Don’t have any details about possible injuries.

thats too bad. Hopefully no one was injured. I would think the newer body has crumple zones to meet today’s standard to absorb impact and crumple up versus the older design of a tank. Older model solid front axle versus new model car like front independent suspension. Don’t think you can have both. Either truck like tough or car like easy to drive.

Sorry I don’t have any photos. My son has been a G wagon owner and he couldn’t believe how bad the new G had fared in this accident. I just wonder if the large solid axle of the old G wagon would give more protection. My guess is that few photos will probably start circulating.The accident happened in Destin (Miramar Beach) Florida
