Adaptive suspension on 2019 G550

Will one notice a difference around town with this option or more in harsher conditions?

Thank you,

Roy

Based on my experience with the adaptive suspension on my S Classes, CL Coupe and my present E Class I would highly recommend the air suspension. I think you will notice a difference in ride over all conditions. Based on the cost compared to the total vehicle cost I can't justify going without it.

Is this adaptive suspension an air suspension though? Website did not say that. If air, I would agree.

No. G-wagon doesn't have air-suspension, both G500/550 and G63. I see this as a good thing as on my vehicles air suspension is typically the first thing that breaks..

No. Just adaptive dampers. Think of dcc on a vw gti or mag ride on a escalade.

Yes - get it 100%.

I watched every possible video on reviews and yes, you should get it: "the adaptive dampers are softened, the steering assist adjusted, and the throttle and transmission remapped for smoother progress over the tough stuff" Alot of positive statements around it.

I did not order it; It only adds the electronic shocks. Sport and comfort mode, which modify the steering and shift mapping, come on all 2019 G's. There is nothing wrong with ordering this option, outside of the "one more thing to break" philosophy, but I don't see much value for this vehicle. On my Porsche Turbo S, they are great!
I should also note that I was working to keep this vehicle at the "sweet spot" on price, since I flip vehicles every 12 to 18 months. Mine had a 137k sticker. If you plan to keep it a long time, get every option. If you fear the repairman, get the extended warranty. Good luck on your search!
