I will pay attention to the needle next time I drive it.
The following is what I had posted earlier. Can you see if yours produce the same scenario?
I have noticed that the area on the top hood near the side blinkers gets extremely hot to the touch after a good drive.
Basically it’s the body panels that the top blinkers are sitting on top of and some area of the hood that gets heat up quite a bit.
My other 2 non AMG Mercedes does not get this hot to the touch for sure. I also had one of the new E300 as a loaner and was surprised after driving over 60 miles and the hood and fender area was not even warm to the touch.
Just wondering if this is normal because of the big power AMG motor creating so much heat or just poor air circulation design?
Is it normal for those body panels body panels to get hot like that on the G63 AMG ?
Thanks.

I posted the same concern in 2017. My '17 runs about that hot, i.e., my temp needle moves up about as high as yours.
A MB rep reported these vehicles run a bit hot. Should not be an issue.
Cheers/B
