new to me

i had been looking for an older G500 for some time and I FINALLY found one that would work for me. I picked up a 1 owner, clean carfax, no accidents, 47,500 mile 2003 G500 that appears to have been kept in the garage as the paint is perfect. It's been maintained at the selling MB dealership since new. So i could not pass this one up.
what i would like to know is who has any knowledge or experience updating items such as stereo head unit and headlamps? Those about the only 2 things i intend to do to it and any help or direction would be greatly appreciated

thanks

Congratulations! Nice find...many miles of safe and happy motoring. There are all kinds update threads on the forum. Just takes time and patience to ferret them out. Just a suggestion...I would lose the white lettered tires. They give the truck a dated look.

thanks and i'll start weeding through the threads
i do plan on turning the tires around so that the white lettering is not showing. You are about the 4th person to recommend that as well :-)

Looking for an R129
I'f you're stil on the fence, I've just made posts regarding head unit and HID headlamp updates. Both are easy and inexpensive.

Wow - that is a stellar G! Looking clean - love the green paint too. You will have some fun with the mods and updates. Enjoy it

Really pretty color indeed. Congrats on the find and good price considering that the latest low mileage 02/03s sold for more than $40k on BaT

There was a seller here on the forums selling the factory HID headlights, those would make a nice upgrade if you want to stay factory, otherwise there are numerous LED options available.

Something like this: https://www.alibaba.com/product-deta...E#shopping-ads

Is a good replacement for your stock HU. Most systems like this run a lite version of Android, have 4G available (as an option or as stock) have a relatively easy to navigate user interface, offer bluetooth connectivity, NAV, etc and best of all, the HU looks like it could have come from the factory.
