2020 G63 Lease Help
Hello all, this is my first post here on the forum. I went to my local dealer today to check out a 2020 G63. I am looking to lease the vehicle but have never leased a Mercedes before, just bought them outright. I absolutely fell in love with the car and got some numbers regarding the lease. I am going back to the dealer on Saturday and would just like some insight on what they gave me. The MSRP of the vehicle is $177,095 and after markup the total is $222,095. 36 month, $35K down, they gave me a monthly payment of $3,803 for 15K miles, $3,704 for 12K miles, and $3,655 for 10K miles. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Leasing is all about Money Factor (times it by 2400 and you get APR) and residual. With that $45K markup (!!) $3800/mo seems still very high with $35K down (never put large amounts down on a lease). Handily the MBUSA site still shows the MY19 model, and its lease calculator has been broken for some time.
So:
- You're being gouged with the sticker markup. As others have said, order and wait
- I suspect you're also being gouged with a Money Factor (MF) markup. Dealers can play with this - find out what the MF they're quoting you is
- The residual is fixed by MBFS. Can't hurt to find out what that is.
- Sales tax will vary by city and state. Some states pay per monthly payment, others get the entire hit up front.

Unless you have a business and can deduct / write off the lease there is almost no scenario where leasing a Gclass makes any sense. Even moreso with a dealer premium. So if you're looking for some sense of financial rational you're not going to find it anywhere.

...but being proportioned with amount of miles, there should be something else included other than "finance", i.e.: maintenance costs, full insurance, etc.

My2020 Build MSRP $161,945 and my lease will be around $2100.00 for 48 months with Zero Down, basically because ill be returning My2017 S Class lease in for it. Dealership got the allocation this month for a Jan build with a late March early April delivery. Also dealership will waive the 8 remaining months of the lease due to me getting into another Mercedes product which is the true goal to them

This will be my 4th lease and I've basically done the same thing every time its the year to turn it in. I sign a 36-48 month lease, by the year of the maturity i decide to get into something different. example: My 2010 Sept E Class (48 month lease) July 2013 CLS (48 month lease) Dec 2016 ( S Class 48 month lease) 2020 (Soon to be G63 48 month lease). The payments are "never" rolled over into the new one

How many miles are you getting for that amount?

Possibly one of the worse lease deals I've ever seen.
They are definitely marking up the MF and edmunds has very little data on this vehicle. But let's just assume the data points OP has given us with markup plus 35k down, 55% residual, his MF would be .0045...essentially paying 10.8% interest rate.
If this is for business purposes why not outright purchase to get the sec179 deduction and special depr? And if your business doesnt gross enough revenue to qualify for the deductions the IRS definitely will not be happy with a $3800 vehicle expense.

But rougly inputting in the numbers, even at a 56% residual, and .0025 MF the selling price of your 165k msrp car would have to be 155k. Plus the dealer is eating 8 of your lease payments ( let's say 1k x 8 months for an S class which is generously low) Sign me up!

Lease rates are high on AMG models as MB Financial doesn’t subsidize the money factors. Get your own financing and bring to your dealer. They will potentially match or beat your rate if you come prepared. USAA and BoA have the best rates, pending top tier credit. I didn’t pay a market adjustment, however, agreed to a dealer increased interest rate. After 3 payments I will refinance w/ BoA.
