Soon: 2020 G63 Currently: 2016 GLE63 SUV + 97 F250HD, Before: 2013 G550, Range Rover Sport, 1984 CJ7
Vehicles Affected: Approximately 2,400 model-year 2019 Mercedes-Benz G550 and Mercedes-AMG G63 SUVs

The Problem: The front door wiring harnesses may have been improperly routed, causing damage to the individual wires when opening and closing the front doors. This can impact safety features such as the side impact restraint system, automatic door unlocking in the event of a crash or the vehicle location in the event of an emergency call. Each scenario increases the risk of an injury in the event of a crash.

The Fix: Dealers will inspect, modify or replace the front door wiring harness in the event damage has occurred for free.

What Owners Should Do: Mercedes-Benz will begin notifying owners Jan. 14, 2020. Owners can call the automaker at 800-367-6372

https://www.cars.com/articles/2018-2...-alert-417457/

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 2,500 model-year 2018-19 Mercedes-AMG E63 sedans and E63S wagons; S63 coupes and sedans; G63 SUVs; and GT63 sedans, all equipped with turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8s

The Problem: The oil feed line to the turbocharger may leak, which in the presence of an ignition source such as hot engine or exhaust components can increase the risk of a fire.

The Fix: Dealers will replace the oil feed line to the turbocharger for free.

What Owners Should Do: Mercedes-Benz will begin notifying owners March 27. Owners can call the automaker at 800-367-6372, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.

I am positive they started correcting the problem prior to the recall notice so you and everyone else not included in the recall will be fine, as well as your G!

In the mail today I got a letter saying I need to have my seal and bolts on my gear housing / steering rack replace due to me being in the Salt Belt East Coast USA (as I am in a salt belt state).
Wild. Any one else receive this?

Where do you live? I suspect this fix will roll out to all Gs going forward since even if initially sold in the Midwest it could be resold to the east coast.

Perhaps my 2020 October G63 build has the problem but the new ones have bolts that are rust free.

Another recall—this appears to be more serious..Im not sure if it’s all or some percentage based on the VIN etc

https://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2...-4matics.shtml

March 4, 2020 — Mercedes-Benz is recalling more than 7,700 G-Class vehicles because they may lose their anti-lock brakes and stability control.

The 2019-2020 Mercedes G550 4Matic and G63 AMG 4Matic vehicles have electrical resistors that may malfunction.

The resistors are inside the differential locking modules, and the malfunctions may interrupt communications between the control units and the differential locking actuators. The malfunctions are what cause the loss of stability control and anti-lock braking.

A driver will see a warning message in the instrument cluster if the control unit does not detect the correct status of the differential lock. In addition, losing stability control and anti-lock braking increases the chance of a crash.

More than 6,500 Mercedes vehicles are recalled in the U.S. and another 1,219 are recalled in Canada.

The G-Class recall is expected to begin April 14, 2020, when Mercedes dealers will inspect the differential locking modules and replace them if necessary.

U.S. Mercedes G550 4Matic and G63 AMG 4Matic vehicle owners may contact the automaker at 800-367-6372.

Canadian Mercedes owners may call 800-387-0100.

CarComplaints.com has owner-reported complaints about numerous Mercedes-Benz models.

Working in the automotive industry,,,this is common on model year 1 of vehicles. Most problems don't arise until 6-8 months in and then it takes a certain number of customer complaints about a common issue to cause a recall. Nothing to be alarmed about

I had this issue about 60 days after I took delivery. Mine was an early build 2019 G 550, delivered in November 2018. The right side of the car became inoperative and a bunch of error messages came on. It took them 1 week to figure out the problem.

Had this issue in last 2 months. All the ABS,ESP warning lights light up one after another like a christmas tree when you start up the car and seems to happen more often in cold weather. At 1st it was thought to be due to the auxiliary battery which was also throwing a low voltage warning but the issue persisted and finally resolved as soon as the differential module was replaced.
I guess now they are doing it systematically on all of them because too many had the same issue.

https://www.cars.com/articles/2019-2...-alert-421444/Vehicles Affected: Approximately 6,600 model-year 2019-20 Mercedes-Benz G550 and Mercedes-AMG G63 SUVs

The Problem: The embossed lock symbol for the child-safety lock on the rear doors may indicate the incorrect lock status of the child-safety lock, increasing a child’s risk of injury in the event of the door opening unexpectedly.

The Fix: Dealers will install a label on the rear doors with the correct operating directions for free.

What Owners Should Do: Mercedes-Benz will begin notifying owners June 30. Owners can call the automaker at 800-367-6372, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its websiteto check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
