Change Steering Wheel, Change Instrumental Cluster

Hello I am trying to modernize my 2005 G500 interior I recently purchased. I want to upgrade the instrumental cluster to a 2012 one and the steering wheel to a 2013+ one . Can this be done . Can you guys provide me with sources and advices . I also want to upgrade the dash interior trim and get rid of the wood . Thanks . I saw a guy changed his wheel but I don’t know how he did it and if his airbags and functions worked ??

I had a steering wheel built from a vendor on Ebay and they can rewire the steering wheel buttons and include the airbag/horn for a specific wheel - even the heated portion. Mine was similar to my year, so it wasn't a full conversion, but he told me that he can rewire many different types of wheels. Turned out pretty nice and a good upgrade for my 2017 G63...PM me offline if you want the email of the vendor!!

Check out dol.car on instagram. I had them do my 2002 G500 wheel. Retains original features, airbag works.

Then for cluster, you gotta find a donor cluster, have it virginized, then coded using a STAR system. It'll then match up with your car.

So you'll shoot them a message, confirm all your details, then they'll procure a core out there in Russia and mail you the new one. Rip and replace your existing wheel. Easy plug and play aside from needing to solder two wires. I love mine.

yoo that’s nice , I’ll definitely do it . I see you have a big navigation screen down there. Is it the Alpine 9 inch ?

I actually went with an android unit. I did a head unit, door speakers, amp and sub in the back. The android unit has wireless/wired carplay/android auto and all sorts of cool features. I was hesitant but this video swayed me to test it. No regrets thus far!

hey man hate to bother you, but does your navigation screen come with backup camera. I was I initially going to go with alpine 9 inch for a grand , but your screen is bigger and it’s half the price . That’s a deal.
