Here's How Big A Joke G63 Allocations are

So took the advice of another member who messaged me on here and said to try a smaller dealership perhaps they'd have a spot. Im in Texas, so I call a dealer in Louisiana, luck is on my side, they have a january build slot available as the car isn't the hottest thing since oxygen, which is great to hear bc there are still 20 people ahead of me in texas. Here is what happens next, I ask if I can place a deposit and the salesman says yes, I waste an hour on the phone spec'ing the car how I want with the salesman and pay a $2500 deposit, my second deposit.

An hour later I get a call from the sales manager and he says he only likes to sell the G63 to locals, yet apparently no locals want it bc he has a january build slot, but he wants to save the car for locals, and since Im in Texas I would have to pay $25k over when it came.

I told him to go F himself

I did a chargeback on my Amex

Mercedes is turning the G63 into a joke

Here is a crappy $158k G63 thats been for sale 5 minutes from my house for 6 months now at $30k over and I've spoken to this dealer multiple times and I've been laughed off that wholesale is $175k and yet he hasn't sold it lol

Two dealers pulled the same stunt on me. Can't wait for the hype to die down. Unfortunately, I want one just as bad as everyone else at MSRP. There is no other model from Mercedes that interests me anymore and will gladly be done with the brand after the G63.

2019 G63s have been selling for 190k-205k wholesale on Mainheim as recently as a week ago.

Data does indicate that they are selling for more than MSRP.

Might not like that but it’s a fact.

LOL dude....jesus get a grip. Even IF that dealer 5 mins from your house was selling at MSRP I wouldn't buy that ****. Here's that guys Rating on ebay:

The hype will die down...some day....honestly we thought it would have died down by now, but 4 g63's at 40k over in 6 hours with minimal effort in a smaller market proves that to be incorrect. Its a tough one right now with so many people willing to pay their way ahead of everyone else. In fact its so bad that when a customer emails in or calls in and starts talking about a g63 it depressing because either A. we cant get it or B. the customer doesn't want to pay for it. As soon as one comes available, one of the 6 G63 leads we get that same day will pay for it. i hear lots of people on here saying they have dealers that will sell at MSRP. but somehow the people that go to those dealers keep posting about wanting an allocation. A string of bait and switch scenarios it seems.

I got mine at MSRP

Put my name on the list and waited my turn. I am a repeat buyer

Was offered a few spots for G550 at msrp..but waited for my turn for 63

Anyone buying over MSRP is burning money..but to some $40k is a rounding error in income

Same joke happened with Porsche GT cars

Most bit once, but u learn your lesson in patience

These cars are not investments

I'm on the same type of list for a RS6 avant...that's a car I'm excited for

G63 is kid hauler

Things will get interesting when half these cars end up exported. :)

Good point. Reminds me exactly of the GT3 RS hype days. Also first on local dealers list for RS6 Avant and Defender 110X, both at MSRP.

Does MB have a Courtesy Delivery Program like Porsche does? It would allow someone to buy from a dealer out of their area and have it delivered to their local dealer. In the case of Porsche they pay the receiving dealer up to $600 for the PDI and since the purchaser will most likely bring the vehicle to the receiving dealer for service most dealers are receptive; it is a voluntary program so dealers do not have to participate.

What part of Texas are you in? I am in Houston and have a good dealer and great sales guy 2k deposit. From start to finish it will be about 8 months.

Festertester Dec 14, 2019 11:05 AM

I did not pay any deposit down and got mine in about 8 months. And this is with fletcher jones in fremont California

SoontobeG63 Dec 18, 2019 02:39 AM

Fletcher Jones Fremont offered me an order slot at a $50k markup above MSRP so I definitely passed on them. Did you get it at MSRP and if so who did you deal with?

Yes, as I said, I didn’t pay any deposit down and paid msrp, but I’m their repeat customer. I worked directly with their GM.
