Apple CarPlay Dashboard

Does anyone know how to access the new Apple CarPlay dashboard? This is a new feature of CarPlay that was introduced with iOS 13. The dashboard shows multiple app's at once not just the app in use. I was recently in my mother in-laws car and in hers you access the dashboard by hitting the home button a second time but this does not work on my 2019 G550. My Phone is updated with latest update. Any ideas?? Thanks

You can see three at once on screen. When in CarPlay, there should be an icon of 8 "dots" on the lower left of your screen which is like a "home" function. It shows me my map, my Spotify and something else all at once. It isn't that great as it is really just a short cut into each app vs a true display of 3 items at once that you can control.

If you’re on “6 dots” view, that is the “dashboard” (which is really only Apple Maps, music playback, then a Siri recommendation).

Is that not what you see? Can you share a picture?

Huh, yeah - that's wrong .

This display is driven entirely by your phone - the host entertainment system isn't aware of it. Have you tried restarting your phone? Deleting the carplay pairing and setting it up again?

Does someone else's phone do the same thing?

If it helps, as a Waze user you're not missing anything at all - but it should work. I have an X7 at the moment, which it works fine with, but haven't got my G63 yet

When you get to your normal home screen try rotating the knob to the left.

thank you for the suggestion but this didn’t work. It’s very odd.

Sorry to hear that. I turned my carplay on this morning and saw just the 8 dots in the bottom corner and thought it looked like the picture you took. I just started turning the knob to the left and eventually it came to the home screen.

Strange, these are mine. Make sure your iPhone software is updated

I am running iOS 13.3. Which I believe is the most current software. How do you switch between these 2 screens?

click on the lower left area with eight small squares or one big and 3 horizontal lines. Toggles. This works on my other vehicles too seamlessly

thanks. That’s how it’s supposed to work. Not sure why it won’t work for me.
