Pre-acceptance Checks
OK, so both scary and exciting - but I'm going to go and pick up my G63 tomorrow!
To make sure I'm going to love it as much as I hope, I will do a short (unaccompanied, hooray!) test drive before I accept delivery. Any major annoyances I should be looking for before I accept?
- The whistling A/C is going to be towards the top of my list
- I know with prior BMWs you look for crappy ("orange peel") paint jobs
- Any accessory items that are often forgotten I should be checking? (e.g. my Range Rovers frequently had missing screw cap covers on the door trims)

Make some left & right turns with the option "inflate side bolsters" activated in order to have all your weight pushing against them and listen at the back of the seat

Check the tire pressures since many time they are over inflated during transport and dealers forget to adjust them down during the PDI. And just give it good look for any cosmetic defects, in & out.

Orange peel and swirl marks are inevitable. I would never deny taking delivery of a car simply due to orange peel.
Main thing I would look for are accessories and damage (scratches, dents, peeling paint, etc.). I've seen 3 G63 arrive at the dealership damaged. Damage is one thing that if you don't point it out before delivery, it's very hard to make a claim afterwards.
