HA! you know when I saw this I did do a quick google search to see who offered this locally. I think I'll take it on a few more offroad excursions before she gets a full detail.

Sure looks clean, but I imagine you can't get every nook and cranny and get back to "factory condition" without taking the truck apart. I'm sure there's still some particles stuck in the creases and joints....
Love the paint restoration though.

I want to know more about this wax they "didn't" remove and how the truck's going to look a year or two down the line.

I've been investigating this dry ice cleaning, and it looks interesting. Instead of using the force and hardness of blast media (like sand) it uses an "explosion" that occurs when the dry ice impacts the surface. Supposedly it cleans without damaging the underlying substrate. I'm curious how long the "clean" effect would stay looking new, but it looks like a good way to get the undercarriage clean short of sandblasting and repainting it all. I agree you can't get every nook and cranny, but if you can get all of the visible areas that you see when the truck is sitting then it might be worth it. I just lifted my F450 a few inches higher than it already was, and now I can see the undercarriage more and all of the dirt/grime that has built up over the past two years of driving it. I might get a dry ice machine just to clean it up and see how it does.

I had a leak at the wiper motor. A gear in the motor froze and the motor was rotating in the column that holds it so water would leak into into the cabin. According to my mechanic its a fairly common problem, but it was a PIA for him to get the motor out to fix.

@almostordinary @shiann Just curious if either of you have swapped in the LED headlight bezel on your trucks yet? If so, did you source from 55TECH or elsewhere? Cheers/thanks!

I've ordered a set plus a grille from MZparts, but ordered my last G63 and C63 grille replacements from 55 tech, and they have solid products and great service.

I'm actually planning to not use the LED's it come with but rather fit in higher quality flush mounted lighting from either Rigid or Hella....I run the Rigids on my landcruiser and they're great for wider light coverage. The similar Hella option is much cheaper and "blacked" out so I may try them this round

https://www.quadratec.com/p/hella/bl...ood-beam-flush

the rigids look to be a bit short .....

Ok, that's interesting. How easy is it to "fit in" the Hella and/or Rigid LED strips into the 55TECH headlight bezel? Any idea? Thanks!

There's plenty of room on the backside - but not sure on amount of trimming needed yet.... should know next weekend once I get home to mock it up. The Rigids on my 80 series had to be cut into the ARB..... so much more complicated...

Sorry for the delay, for me my light situation is great w the stock xenon lights.

I did however upgrade my fogs to hi output yellow, which allows me to get a better understanding of where the truck is on dark roads since it contrasts with the headlight output.

@Texas E63 let us know how the project turns out!

hoping to have the part next week and get them fitted and share pics - install will have to wait until after the Tranny is built.... ugh ! we kinda knew the truck was a "rescue" and had some issues but doing a full baseline turned up one thing I didn't expect to be as major...so the lemondae will be, that it'll be built to hold the extra HP we'll be adding to the truck with headers, tune and maybe some other fun goodies. But all that'll wait until we get it back fully sorted in 4---3-4 weeks...

Something like the larger one in this set, just pry it up. When you go to put it back in, just reconnect the wire, put it in the channel and use the bottom of your palm to get it back in the channel it sits in.

I didn't fully resolve my issue. Think it's the window seal after talking to a few more G guys in the PNW area. I just have been using a big truck cover when the G55 isn't in use.

Planning a move back to LA this summer so likely will hold on fully repairing for a while since it's a moot point once back in LA.
Link to truck cover? I don’t know that I have a leak but my last 05 that suffered thousands in water damage has left me with PTSD. I currently have my newer car outside in the sun so I can garage my G, but I’d rather throw a cover over it until I get a 2 car garage.

Would be grateful for any info you can provide on the specific hi-output yellow bulbs you used in your bumper fogs. Thank you.

I purchased this cover and it's been amazing w the Seattle wind/rain/snow. Retired it a couple weeks ago (tossed it), moving back to LA so no immediate need to haul it all the way down there.

Been a while since I've posted. Bought a house in Silver Lake, Los Angeles. And recently snagged my next project.

Transplanting an LS3 E-Rod engine into this little 87 911 coupe in the coming months.

Drove from LA to Nebraska to trail it back home.

The G55 just hit 85,555 miles on the clock and going strong. Have a few fixes and upkeep projects, but still love this truck everytime I hop in it.

Hope everyone's been doing well.

Tag @twocarsolution on IG! What are your fixes that you've done/need to do? BTW I got rid of that upper dash CarPlay unit and put in a Sony CarPlay capable one. Did you ever do anything to your stereo?

Havent done my stereo yet. The iphone and bluetooth has been doing me well so no need there.

The 911 has had a lot of body work, but is currently a roller until I get the G50 tranny and the LS motor... Going to be a fun daily once its done.

Ha I couldn't imagine this with the 5.5L motor.

But the 6.3L LS3 will be plenty of power.

Sold my E63 to fund this purchase, so getting a naturally aspirated 6.2L back in my life is going to be a lot of fun in this little G-Body 911.

yup. Which I’m also in the middle of sourcing. Bought as a roller 🙃 so no engine or any of the trans parts aside from the pedal box
