It's already open at least for G550's, like two weeks ago? First orders are for September builds.

Are dealers quoting "market" when the car arrives or an agreed premium?

2026 G63
My SA told me today that my 2021 G550 (their first such allocation) is starting to go into production. Changes haven't locked yet but I am set on my build.

They've had a G550 on the lot for almost a month that remains unsold ($151k sticker). Apparently people are test driving it and deciding to put in a 2021 order instead of buying that one.

My dealer has had lots of interest in my G550 that will be here in a couple weeks. MB puts them on the dealer web sites when a VIN is generated with "In Transit". The sales manager told me several offers came in over sticker with the highest $10k over, and he asked me a few times already if I still want it. I have done business with them before and they are not doing what some dealers have done to others with orders - sell to the highest bidder even if ordered by someone! Anyway, desirable specs will not sit on the lot more than a week.

So for others who have submitted their order, what exactly have you received? Did you get a signed purchase agreement?

I sent my dealership the build, they sent a computer printout of the build that I signed and sent back. I recently mailed them a 5k (refundable) deposit.

But it doesn’t sound like to me, or at least what the dealer is telling me, it doesn’t sound like they can produce any official documents for me until they can order.

They are making it sound like they can’t do anything yet and don’t know when they will be able to do something “official.”

(I am not concerned with this dealership screwing me, my relative is the CFO, they have about 60 dealerships and have a company wide policy of always selling at or below MSRP....it would just be nice to have something in hand showing me something lol)

Until they have an allocation for you they cannot give you a Purchase Order (PO) #, which will show you that you a G Wagon planned to be built.

2026 G63
Bob: It's a pretty nice spec - graphite metallic exterior and black interior with white stitching with AMG night package, adaptive dampers, and comfort seat package. The stripper black model (literally no options) they received at the same time has sold.

I guess I don't live in a very G-heavy place. Since 2018 I've only seen three different 2019+ G's and really don't see many W463's of any year at all.

084runnerltd: I went to the dealer in person a few weeks ago to place a $1,000 refundable deposit and sat with the sales person as he put in my build into the Mercedes system. I got a printout with the specs and a signed invoice saying that the vehicle would be sold at MSRP and that pricing was not available at this time. I just got the email today that production is starting, so I've asked for the build in writing before it goes to "red." I'll ask for a purchase order number too now that Bob has reminded to do so.

Your build "In Writing" should be a PO#.

Ahh, ok makes sense.

I had read on here that dealerships will get their 2021 vehicles the same month that they got them last year.

I asked the dealership about this and they apparently hadn’t heard that. They are definitely a low volume G dealership, sounds like they get about 1 per year.

When I asked about a G63, they said they couldn’t get one. (Which I am happy with...I don’t need to spend that kind of money)

All I know is they told me about a year wait....only 354 more days left until I have it. Lol

Sounds like we may have signed a similar build sheet.

i asked for something stating MSRP, they said they could write me up something, but have never sold a vehicle over msrp. (I know, I know, “Don’t trust them.” They sold me a Supra last year at msrp when other dealers were charging ridiculous mark-ups). I told them not to worry about it.

It would just be nice to know I have a spot...so the owners buddy or someone else “connected” doesn’t get my build and I end up being told they can’t get an allocation til 2022...

Right there with you on a G63. If similar timing had been available, it would have been very tempting to pay the extra to jump up, but I have to draw the line somewhere. My dealer just told me it would be a year or even 2 on a G63, so it wasn't worth the wait to me.

The dealer was rather optimistic and told me October delivery, but after reading others' experiences on this forum, I'm hopeful for delivery by November.
