I wasn't expecting a miracle solution, it wasn't as if I was hit by a cinder block on the freeway. The crack started from a tiny impact crater the size of a pin *****. I honestly didn't even hear anything hit the windshield.

So, because of this thread, I reached out to a local shop that installs Exoshield. The guy there said he actually has a G63 right now that he's doing the Exoshield for a customer. Told me he's on his 3rd windshield and finally decided to get it done. He quoted me $500 which sounds like good insurance. I don't think my insurance company offers windshield insurance.

Insurance companies should really look into covering for the windshield protection film..anyone try to ask them this? There was zero out of pocket for me but I wonder if it had any affect to my future rates

I did Exoshield on my 2020 G63.

Ask the installer for their brochure. In it is a enhanced product that Exoshield offers that will cover your windshield if it is damaged or breaks after Exoshield is installed. The information may also be on their web site.

I don’t need to do it since I live in Florida and the insurance companys have to cover damage.
I did it because I wanted to minimize the possibility of a replacement hassle and the lack of new windshield availability.

I had ClearPlex installed on my Speciale five years ago, and I don't see any distortion at all. I also had it installed on my 2020 G 63. Looks good to me. Fortunately, I haven't had any rocks or road debris hit my windshields after installing ClearPlex. But, I bet it will protect the windshield from routine road debris.

I don't know anything about the competing products. What it is that the competition claims they do that ClearPlex doesn't?

As my G63 had multi layers Bray films. They could take off each film if any scratches ever done by wipers or road debris. Anyway clearplex protect my speciale windshield just fine but the installation is not perfect.

Windshield wipers? Do Speciales have windshield wipers? LOL. I don't even know how to turn them on I thought Ferraris were made of sugar? The ClearPlex on my Speciale still looks like new, but I only have 6,000 miles on it, and I never used the windshield wipers

The installers in Utah are much more reasonable than in California. I paid $300 for the Clearplex on my Speciale five years ago, and $300 for ClearPlex on my G 63 a couple weeks ago. If I manage to scratch it up with windshield wipers, then I'll just have them remove and install ClearPlex again.

Is it more cost effective to have multiple laters of Bray films applied, and then remove a layer if/when it get scratched up?

well, My Ferrari have seen all road condition. Bray is about 600. Gwagon got hit with rocks couple of time after installation. No cracks as of yet.

That exoshield warranty/guarantee sounds slick. I’m going to ask my installer how much it costs behind the installation price. Thanks for the tip!

Both my 2019s have Exoshield. It’s great and a must have. Check if your installer is certified to install it. Call Exoshield if in doubt. They improved its durability in late 2019.

I'll look into it. And thanks for helping out with the Tuxmats (not), but thanks to Chris for stepping in.

You told me the Tuxmats would be a few minutes of my time. They told me 1.5 hours. Sorry bro, but that’s a big delta.

That it what they told me. It would have been nice if you had told me....I found out a week later from Tuxmat that you did not go, bro.

It looks like a week didn’t matter too much. After the measurements in January, the mats still aren’t on their site and no one here has said they have them yet.

Huh? It appears you do not know the story so let me educate you: I contacted Tuxmat last year and asked about mats for the new G. I was told that if I could find someone to bring them their G that person would get a free set of mats. A member here volunteered and he went to Tuxmat for measuring; however, by the time the prototype mats arrived (delay due to Covid) the member had sold their G so I needed to find someone else in their area. Surge said he would but he changed his mind, which I found out from Tuxmat and not Surge. Another member though (Chris) said he would help and he actually went there last month, but the mats did not fit properly so they need to be redone and Chris will go back when the next set arrives. The delays are Covid-related from what I have been told and Tuxmat wants to offer them for sale so there is no reason for them to drag their heels, and I was told that they will have them available before the winter season arrives - I will update everyone here in a different thread.

Sorry to the OP for getting off topic.
