Can I DM someone my 2021 VIN number and get an update on where my truck is? Last I heard it was built on 10/30 and has been listed as produced not shipped.

Why can’t all 3 of you call your dealership for tracking? It’s ridiculous they can’t provide you with the information, it’s not like it’s a Chevrolet, it’s an expensive vehicle!

Took your advice. Ship assigned is my latest status. My guess is that the truck will be at east coast US port by December 1st week.

Hi, mine is sitting at the VPC, the EPA has certified the model, but waiting for it to be signed by the EPA. With the election chaos, I’ve been told it could be November 25th. So, if your vehicle is here by December 1st, you’ll be fine. I’m not in any hurry, but would like to have it.

Isn't that big news for this thread? Doesn't that mean you're predicting that US 2021 G-wagons will be released around November 25th?

I’ve had this information since November 4th. It’s from the regional Mercedes rep for my area. I didn’t know if he wanted me to post it, but it doesn’t seem like anyone has received any updates from their dealership. I sent Cardiodoc a PM with the information as soon as I found out. They say it could be any day now or by November 25th.

My Dallas TX MB dealership has 12 G classes waiting at Brunswick. For sure doubt I’ll be buying another MB again after this experience.

Salesman called me this morning and thinks it’s going to be released next week. Mine and a G 550 are being held at the VPC from my dealership.

Easy solution is not to get an August or September build in the future.

Although I guess the 2019 G63's weren't released until January but that was a brand new model.

Mine is still waiting at port last I heard--hoping it gets a ship this week.

I had one of the first builds in September. I was hoping I'd get it by October. Hopefully it's released and at the dealership next week. Patience!!!! LOL

Well as helpful as that tid bit is... I actually had a July build but when Mercedes couldn’t fulfill the night package and instead was going to build my 190k G as they saw fit, we pushed it to the first opportunity they could fulfill the build request as ordered ( which happened fo be the next model year). Nobody saw thought to explain that after it was built and shipped it would then sit at a ship yard parking lot for three months.
I was just hoping for better customer service when I moved into the 150k + car market.

Mine is at port as well, waiting for ship assignment... maybe we will be on the same ship per my dealer, there is a backlog at the port with a lot of MB vehicles waiting to ship.

What build date was yours? Mine was 10/30 and just got assigned to Cattleya Ace, not on the ship yet per the system. Which is strange because Cattleya Ace just left Germany, is headed to the US and is not going to be back at German port for another few weeks. So either, the system is wrong and my 10/30 build is actually on that Cattleya Ace ship now OR the wait at port is insane long and I won't be seeing my truck for another 2 months.

medjunkie: Sounds good--hoping we both get on the next ship!

mpower3330: I had a 10/21 build date and as of middle of last week had not been assigned a ship.

my build date was 11/11 and was at port waiting for a ship on 11/14. I believe the ship manifest doesn’t update until a couple of days after the ship has left port. Also, cars don’t get assigned to ships so many weeks in advance so likelihood is that your car is on that ship on the way to the US!

A gaggle of MB's
On you "Port" guys - train goes up from Graz every Saturday night - arrives Port early Sunday morning - Port receiving has been running behind on check-in up to 3-days - but should show "at-Port-No-Ship-Assigned" by that Weds..

Now - Ship Assignments (which are NOT done in advance) - are generally done by that following Tuesday - BUT NETSTAR does not get updated with that Ship Assignment - to GET THAT SHIP ASSIGMENT before the ship sails (early the following week it has arrived at Port) - the Dealer has to CALL MERCEDES DISTRIBUTION here in the US and very politely ask for the Vessel Info - because that Ship Assignment WILL SHOW on their Distro Screen.

Dealer NetStar is not the ONLY Mercedes - and at this moment posting in-transit/vessel info is not a Top Priority - Distro has a Deeper System..

So... what you're saying is I've got a chance that my truck is on the Cattleya Ace (ship name confirmed by dealer). Cattleya Ace is on its way from Bremmerhaven to Baywood US (departed Bremmerhaven 4 days back). Even though MB status is currently "at port ship assigned".

That's correct. I had no ship assignment and I had my rep call distribution. Not only mine was on the ship but the ship was half way through Atlantic before ship name appeared in Netstar.
