Just took delivery of a 2018 g550
After a 6 month search, I found a great 2018 g550. Very excited to finally get one. After a few days, I’ve got a few questions that I’m hoping folks can help me with.
1. Do the wheels have wheel locks (so your wheels can’t get stolen). If so, where is the wheel lock adapter (also called key)?
2. I think the first answer is “with the tools” but my second question is where are the tools? I found the jack under the passenger side rear seat. But no tools. Manuel says on the in the floor in front of the cup holder but I don’t see anything that opens (like a pull tab like the jack has?) in this area. Any ideas? Do I need to remove the cup holders?
3. Does the position of the brake pedal adjust? I find it too close to me compared to the gas pedal)
4. I’m lucky enough to have CarPlay- but there are no steering wheel controls for the radio (skip/next?) I see there is volume. Is that right?
5. How do you undo the rear center seat belt so it can coil into the ceiling? Hitting the small red “release” didn’t do anything. Do I need a tool?
6. How do I access the spare? Do I need another tool is the (very well) hidden case?
7. Anyway to install a front plate without drilling into the bumper?
Let’s stop at 7 for now. If you have some recommend mods (simple ones welcome) please feel free to share. Thanks for all your help!

1,2- I have never looked for the wheel lock adapter and the toolkit. I know it’s supposed to be under back seat floor area. I know the lock is there somewhere since the dealer has been able to service the car a few times now!
3. No. It’s a common ergonomic challenge of the old G
4. never noticed since I am so used to using the rotary dial for controlling CarPlay, will check next time I drive it!
5. not sure..
6. No secret lock on this one unless the dealer ordered one for you. A mid sized flat head screwdriver is all you need. The earlier g class comes with a lock FYI so you can get one if you want it. Here’s a vid that helped me first time I tried to take it off. The ring then comes off and you kind of have to wiggle the center piece for it to come out. At least the first time I tried it was stuck on pretty good because the shaft had some sort of tape over it making it fit really snug into the tire holder

Hyper- I literally took delivery. Car is used. And it was shipped to me. I’m sorry if that term doesn’t sit well with you.
Manuel is in pdf and easy to search. Yes. I checked. Look up all my questions and tell me how clear those are in the manuel.
Thanks everyone!

And yes, ever since they stopped with hard copies of manuals it's been lame!
FYI in case you want to order the manual or can’t find them on eBay - part numbers for the paper manual: 463 584 29 05 (main paper manual), 463 584 42 05 (brief overview) #1, 2 -FYI the tool kit is supposedly under the middle seat floor area so you have to remove the cup holder thing in the back and it should be under the floor
I did check on #4 - no buttons on the steering wheel to control CarPlay.
#5 - Didn’t even realize we had a center seatbelt in the ceiling! Hope the instructions helps - looks like you were on the right track. The belt tongue probably needs to be wiggled out if it’s been there a while.
here are some snaps!
