Exclamation *ANNOUNCEMENT* Splitting the G-Class Forums

Hi All,
The thought came up to split our G-Class forum on MBWorld and create 2 forums:
  • G-Class (W460, W461, W463) (model years up to and including 2018) - this forum
  • G-Class (W464) (model year 2019+) - new forum!
This was to help distinguish discussions between the new re-designed truck and the older model trucks.
You can find the new forum on the main M-B SUVs, Trucks, Vans, Diesels, Other page here:
https://mbworld.org/forums/g-class-w464-269/

Feel free to begin posting in the new forum if you have the latest model of G-Class.
You can also request the Administrator to move any existing threads in this forum to the new forum.

Only a couple of extra clicks between the two forums... Well, it is a totally different vehicle...
Makes more sense to me than having a G-Class forum and a separate AMG G55 forum for basically the same vehicle.

...am I mistaken or the 2019+ MB still refers to as W463?

It’s officially W463.

Yep, still the same W463 but I guess the forum administrators decided on W464 to distinguish from the old model. We can have them change it to W463A since that seems more appropriate.

I agree the 463 and 464 should be separate. However if I could make a suggestion - the G55 and the rest of the previous model should be combined

So when is the G55 forum going to be assimilated to the W463 forum? G55 forum barely gets any traffic anyway, and new posters usually don't get their threads read in that section for days (if at all) because it gets such low traffic.

Well MBWorld created the "AMG" forum area for all AMG vehicles and not just the G, so I imagine the separate G55 forum will stay as-is....

Yet there is no separate G63 or G65 sub forum within the AMG forum area. My point is that assimilation of the G55 forum into the W463 section seems to have some merit. I know nothing of the logistics of moving forums around, so maybe it’s harder than the trouble is worth. I’ve just noticed the G55 section gets far less traffic yet many of the questions asked in that thread are hardly G55 specific.
