Factory Delays / Allocation Slowdown?

Have there been delays in the manufacturing facility?

I was supposed to get an allocation in January, but my dealer has informed me that Mercedes has basically cut every dealership's allocations in half (or even more), so they're basically only getting 1 G allocation per month now (instead of 4-5 monthly). Am projected to get an allocation now in June or July. If this is accurate, any idea what is causing the delay (and whether it will get remedied soon)?

There are production delays across the entire auto industry brought about by the shortage of computer chips. This is true for U.S. and foreign manufacturers. It seems the computer industry has taken a larger portion of chip production to meet increased demand for technology equipment used by people working at home. Some auto manufacturing plants have suspended operations causing layoffs as well as loss in revenues. Just another obstacle to deal with during the pandemic.

Asian shipments could be delayed by the container ship that's currently wedged sideways in the Suez Canal.

That is pretty amazing...someone fell asleep! I have been through the canal when in the Navy and it is something to see - burned-out tanks on one side, an oasis on the other, and miles and miles of sand dunes on both, with a huge lake in the middle.

Piloting a ship that large down a channel that narrow makes even yawning a dangerous distraction.

These give one an idea of just how narrow the Suez can be, and how big a ship can be - note the crane near the hull:

Good Afternoon everyone,

Delays are killing the shipments of all Mercedes especially luxury vehicles like the G63. However, I have a brand new one available for sale from a dealer in Maine. Ready for delivery or pick up today! I have pictures and MSRP to send if you would like. Just let me know! Thanks
