Good luck. Please post if you find a place that can do such an order with an irreversible contract to sell at MSRP.

Impossible. Ill buy every single one at MSRP, just like half the guys on this forum. I know of a few dealers that I can tell you who let you order at MSRP, but they are straight up with you that you will not get the car for at bare minimum 2 years.

Is this a new thing or have I lucked out? I ordered my 2020 in April 2019, it arrived in March 2020. Ordered without markup. I ordered another one this past September which is supposed to be here at end of the year (hopefully but who knows these days), and again, placed the deposit with no markup discussed.
I knew people paid markup for G63s in stock but this widespread paying markup to order seems to be something relatively new.

James, what dealer do you order from? Do you have a direct contact there for me? Ill call now and place an order on the spot. I know of 3 other dealers, all at MSRP, all state 2 years or longer, literally. Every other dealer I know what can deliver a car in 8 to 14 months wants 15k or more.

Agree. But MB Corporate store in NYC, also started selling above MSRP, after lying to their potential customers for 2 years (I am one who waited 2 years). They still have 4 year waiting list for G63 and 1 year for G550.

2024 G 63
Ferrari doesn't allow their dealerships to charge markups on new cars. They have to sell them at MSRP. Sounds good, but in practice it complicates things for all involved. If the Ferrari dealer has a new car that he thinks should sell for $50K over MSRP, then he's going to get that markup one way or other. For example, he might ask you to trade-in your existing Ferrari as part of the deal. He'll offer you $50K less than your trade is worth. Voila. You just bought a new Ferrari at MSRP Alternatively, the dealer might like you to establish a relationship by purchasing some used Ferraris before selling you a new car at MSRP and so on. IMHO, it's much easier to buy a new G 63 by simply paying the dealer a "fair" mark-up. Of course, it's worth spending some time to find a dealer with the "fairest" mark-up

I think the ADM % greatly varies by market and not all dealers are applying it. I paid MSRP for a 2021 last month, but I was local and willing to wait for a new build. However, keep in mind that Dealers will continue to raise the markup as long as folks are willing to pay for it. With chip shortages and dealer allocations being cut the markup will continue to rise. So while I think ADM is becoming the norm you can definitely get MSRP if you're in the right market and willing to be patient.

Supply and demand is what it is and MSRP isn't an absolute otherwise every Mercedes sold would be at sticker.

Is there a rule that we're not allowed to name dealerships on the forum? So many threads about dealers doing the wrong thing. If there are no repercussiions, then its only going to keep happening. I daresay a large majority of G owners/prospective buyers read forums like this to make decisions. If MB realizes the crap these dealers are pulling is actually affecting sales, they might put an end to the price gouging.
