Wow...how exhausting reading through so many judgmental posts. I suppose its just humane nature to presume to understand why one does what one does based upon their own financial situations. Whether you paid msrp or $150k over to acquire what you desired, why is that anyone's business? I'm an old guy who has experienced the gamut of personalities in business for far to many years. In the end its just about pushing that start button, putting it sport+ and loving the experience. To bad forums can't just be about sharing those experiences without the bs.

I personally have always liked the Gwag, albeit out of my price range. I agree with the Gentleman above^. It's also a truck that holds it's value far better than any other MB.

Just as well those buying them are loaded.....high prices nothing to do with them being particularly desirable (my 164,000mile ALFA is worth 25% more than it was this time last year).....and everything to do with short supply or new cars which in turn affect used car supply....same as just about every other make model of car. So those buying at sky high prices now better be getting out of them real soon....or keeping them for a very long time.....anyone in the middle is going to lose a LOT of money when chip supply and availability returns to normal....which it already is starting to with some cars. I'm looking to buy 2010 to 2014 C63 or E63 and have been looking for about a year now.....I wont be buying at the moment though.....it would just be stupid to do so.....

Does anyone one know what Trade-in values are for 2021? I'm thinking about 225k or so and about 250K -275 for a Private seller?
I have another 2021 G63 on order at MSRP that's being built this Thursday with a delivery date sometime in January if it's not delayed and they want my 2021 G63 as a trade in.

I took my G63 in to the dealer today for the rear door latch recall. I stopped by the showroom and saw they had a new 2021 G63, asked about it. They said they have a $100k markup (total $277k) and said they have sold a few with such a markup. I don't know if they are being honest but that is what I was told. Also told me that they are only selling to people in state and they sold a GLS600 Maybach for $150k over MSRP.
Then the salesperson was trying to get me to trade in my 2020 G63 for a new s-class, lol. Said I might even be able to get from them what I paid new, haha.

Don't buy the hype, inventory is highest than it has ever been with 707 modern 2019-2021 G63s for sale on Autotrader as of this morning. This is the highest number I have seen since the 2019 was introduced and since the G63 was introduced in 2013 and has steadily risen from approximately 400 at the end of August so at the current crazy prices, supply is definitely higher than demand and more G63s are piling on every day at dealer lots. Per my dealer, MB is introducing the new 2023 G63 with MBUX very early in 2022 and will be starting the lengthy US certification process immediately. He expects the new 2023 cars to start arriving into the US by mid to late summer and he was informed the V8 G63 will continue to be produced. The 2021s will continue to be produced at full production capacity until 12/31/2021 and will continue to arrive into the US until mid February. Then they will shutdown the factory briefly for retooling and certification of the 2023. So yes there will be an approximate 6 month hiatus while the updated G63 is prepared and certified.

Very few people that are SMART with their money are paying these ridiculous prices. The market will correct itself and values will go down to earth. The car / housing / luxury / watch market is unsustainable at its current level. Most people (average people making average wages) cannot afford the crazy prices we are seeing for just about everything. There will be a correction, I hope slight one and markets will readjust. Mercedes is not stopping production of the V8 indefinitely. There will be a pause in 2022 which we all know about but the '23 model will likely be a refresh and some version of hybrid is my guess similar to what Porsche does with it's Turbo S e-Hybrid models. In any event, when the latest iteration of the G wagon comes out the '21 and older models will be yesterday's news and while they'll certainly still hold their value I doubt highly we'll be seeing these $300k prices. I've had an order in since March of 2021. I'm likely going to get getting a '23 model by end of next year. Best case for me will be car holding its value when it comes time to switch into something else.

Tesla, at $1.1 Trillion is worth more than Toyota, Honda, GM, Ford, Stellantis (Chrysler), BMW, VW and Daimler COMBINED (which is about $800B total). Rivian, that has sold about 150 vehicles, is worth $130B - about the same as VW, about half of Toyota, and about double BMW. Lucid is worth $84B - more than any one of BMW, Ford, Stellantis or Honda.
I'd put $250K into a G63 before I'd sink it into Tesla, Rivian or Lucid stock.

You’re right about the market caps but one has nothing to do with the other. The G63 has a MSRP. If you’re moderately patient you can attain one at MSRP. The values of G wagons are a speculative bubble due to unknowns about 2022 production. But all sources clearly indicate that the V8 Mercedes is not extinct. I could be a billionaire and the most I’d pay for ADM is maybe $20k and that’s if I really wanted it. Trust me when I tell you there are more people with that level of discipline than the fly by night type that spend 5x what they earn. The gluttonous supply of G wagons on the pre owned markets is a clear indicator that there is more supply than demand. This is not a one off La Ferrari or Agera it’s a mass produced Mercedes. For what it’s worth I love it hence the reason I ordered it but I feel sorry for anyone paying super car prices just to have something for clout.

Market caps of public companies have heavy short interest, big hedges on gains and losses and in my opinion don’t share the same parallels with consumerism / car prices. Over 80% of Americans are not invested in stocks. But almost all Americans buy cars and when prices for GMC trucks and Jeeps are OVER MSRP you know for sure we are in a bubble. The same bubble applies to G wagons. There was a time not long ago where you negotiated prices BELOW invoice. Since 2012 I’ve almost always paid anywhere from 10-25% below MSRP. Those times will soon return.

Does anybody here have access to the latest Manheim report for the '21 G63? I am starting to get some offers from dealers and wonder if they are in line with wholesale. If anybody does, could you please post here?

If you want to sell your G, but want to avoid direct contact with buyers, look into consignment dealers who take a % of the sale price (which on a high demand/value vehicle such as a G you can negotiate). You can probably do much better than selling at wholesale to a MB dealership, if this is your plan.
