Is It A Good Time to Order Mercedes G63?
Hi Guys,
I drive Cayenne S Coupe and I want to switch to G63. As far as I know, a facelift is coming to the G series but there is a waiting list for more than 1 year. Should I order now or wait for facelift? Which option makes more sense? Thanks.

I don't think will be much change in the facelift, but I'm sure it will have the MBUX instead of what the current one has!!
then I believe you are talking about a year plus for the new one to be released, so make sure your name is on the list at your local dealer.
I would say enjoy your Cayenne and watch the market!!

With prices going up every year and one of the lowest depreciation rates of all cars and an average 3-4 year wait time, it is always a good time to order a G63 when you get an allocation. Even the older G63s from before the refresh of 2019 still look awesome and continue to have great resale value.

If you can get at MSRP, get in line, get one, then get back in line. Even better if you have multiple MSRP dealers then you can rotate sooner and get a new one each year .

Ok. I am going to the dealer next week Hopefully they will accept a new order/waiting list.
I want to order the upcoming facelift version. As far as I understand, if I deposit money and write my name on the waiting list, I can still be a facelifted version. Of course, it depends on the release date of the facelifted version.

Hello. I am new to this forum. I ordered one 18 months ago and was told that there 16 people in front of me. I got a call from sales manager about 4 months telling me to pay $27k over sticker and be guaranteed one early 2023. I got an email from the dealer stating that my car has gone into production and will be at the dealership late Feb/early March. Do you think it will be a 2023 model? My friend's G63 just got to the dealer and is a 2022.

Either way, if it's just going into production, then it will be a 2023. 2022s stopped production a few months ago. @G63 newbie 's friend just got a 2022 probably due to extra long shipping times

Yeah I really don’t get the constant obsession on this board about a facelift for the G. We just got a new generation 5 years ago and this isn’t a vehicle that has a new gen every 7 years. The current design will stick around for years or decades even... Sure you might get some tweaked fenders, new colors, new options etc but the base of the car is NOT changing anytime soon. Folks hedging their bets on a facelift are wasting their time.

The G went a very long time without getting a full redesign but it got quite a few siginficant facelifts throughout it's run. In 1990, 1997, 2002, 2007/2008, and 2012, stylin was changed, mechanicals were changed pretty significantly, and/or interior was heavily updated. Spy photos have been out and I expect the 2024 model will be a facelift with possibly MBUX, revised headlight/taillight patterns, possiblyupdated switchgear, and some new featurees. Nothing huge and major, not a new model, just some notable updates.

I pulled the trigger today. My dealer offered 2 waiting lists for G63; the current model in 8-9 months or facelifted version in 2024. I went with the waiting list for the facelift version and put the deposit down.
They will create and prioritize an order for me as soon as Mercedes starts to build facelifted version. I am already excited.

The new SL is still just ICE and it looks like the new GT coupe will be as well:
https://www.carscoops.com/2022/12/20...le-rear-seats/
The link above states the photographer noticed a charging port on one of them with the squared exhaust tips (most likely a GT 63 E-performance or whatever they call it) and none on the other one with squared tips (most likely an all ICE GT 63) and the final one with rounded exhaust tips (most likely a GT 53 with a 6 cylinder).
