Today my 2021 G63 would not start. The FOB unlocked the doors and all the electronics worked including radio and air conditioning. But when I pressed the start button nothing happened. After several attempts I got a red message "Apply Parking Brake. Risk of Rolling Away. See Operator's Manual". I had gotten this message before in my old 2014 G550. The car thought it was in gear and would not start. Luckily I was not too far from home, so someone brought me the second spare key FOB. It started right up. So my question is, would a weak FOB be unable to start the car engine? Or is this some other issue I should be concerned about? Thanks all.

It's easy enough to change the fob battery and see if the problem is fixed. Usually the vehicle will give an instrument panel advisory when the fob battery needs replacing.
