Just a thought, did you consider painting/powder coating the brush guard? Maybe a black or body color? Also, I remember seeing a show (may have been Overhaul'n) where they had some chrome pieces and took scotch brite to them until they appeared to be a nice satin type of finish. It looked awesome. That could look cool against your white...

Dealer just told me yesterday that the inserts that replace the brush guard will be leaving Germany October 8th and will be to me 4 days later. This should make a big difference in the look of the truck.

Your mods look awesome. I picked up my G63 (Black on black) about a month ago and just turned 1,000 miles, half of which were from driving it home from SD to SF, CA. I sent my ECU into RENNtech earlier this week and expect it back tomorrow, for installation sometime tomorrow afternoon. Needless to say I am pumped. Will post some feedback after I get on it this weekend

Right on! Were you lucky enough to get an allocation for a build? In my case I was in SD visiting family and the local MB dealership just happened to have one coming in on a pre-order basis, the day I was in town and the guy passed! I have his wife to thank, she didn't think he needed it! Traded in my 08 G55k.

I didn't even order it.
The dealership got the first 2 G63's in canada i was told. They were both identical.
One of them was purchased and I reserved the other one!

The matte black is bad-***. G's in general are rare enough, but the matte black is super rare! Can't wait to see some pix.

Nope - engineers did not want to change the door design and other long-standing items in the truck. At least that's what my MBUSA pal told me. At least it makes a cool sound when you turn the key!

Congrats...my favorite color combo. If I didn't live in a hot & dusty city, I would have gone with matte black over the matte gray I've ordered.

You got me a little jealous and impatient. That's the exact car I was expecting when I ordered mine months ago, but found out last Friday after the car was on the ship that they painted my car 040 black. Dealer was great however and told me to take delivery of the incorrect color and they will re-order the correct one and when it arrives, they will swap it out, no costs to me at all. I thought that was a good deal considering it was the fault of the factory (they claimed a computer glitch) and I believe MB has a disclaimer that they can make changes without notification.

Hi, Owners of G63 AMG,
how much you guys paid for the car. I ordered one white on Red, however, it takes forever ( more than 4 months). And, I found a white on black (diamond stitch leather) from a private car dealership which sell exotic cars like ferraris. But, I am going to pay over sticker which is 150k for the car. And, I called the MB dealers around me in LA. they all said there is definitely a mark up on the car right now if I want something right away, normally 20k to 30k... So, i might think 150k is a fair price. So, can anyone give me a hint or advice on what should i do right now. Thanks !!

i like it much better without the guard. just so clean without it. but again it doesn't look bad on ur ride since it doesn't stand out much on white. on a matte black car i would imaging paint the guard matte black would look really aggressive. still prefer the clean look though.
