Fuel choice in Dubai
Hi guys... Anyone in Dubai has been using 95 RON fuel on the G55 with no issues reported? The gas flap does say 95!
Just had a parts salesman at Garghash ask an engineer which to use, he said "people here normally use 98"! A lousy and a very unprofessional answer! Typical!
My questions are:
a) does it negatively affect engine life? (Although flap does say 95 RON)
b) cause any nock and pre-igniting (or whatever it's called )?
c) if "no" to above q's, does it raise fuel consumption (reduce mileage)?
d) does 98 RON on the other hand REDUCE fuel consumption (raise mileage)?!
Thanks

Ok!!! 78 views and not one comment, reply or even an opinion...
Anyway, the station I stopped at (with reserve light on!) didn't have 98 so I went with 95 for the current tank.. NOT really sensing any difference in performance, not that I really pushed the car yet. I need to push that mileage up, so may check with the morons at the dealer (at dealerships, everyone is a moron until proven innocent) about Keropur or Techron, though I doubt I'll get any difference as the car is only 33,000 km old.

I know, I've seen your posts.
If 15-20% less mileage, which I doubt, then 98 is better, coz then u'd be financially at the same point. By all means I think if 95 in Dubai is exactly 95, then I'd run it with confidence. But dealers couldn't care less to give you precise answers.
