Please can someone assist me. I'm looking at a 1990 G55 in Qatar for 13000 USD with 113000 km on the clock. I understand it's a really old vehicle, however my only concern with that is the vehicle's reliability. If I had my way I'd be driving a old Unimog so the image of driving a 23 year old vehicle doesn't bother me. My question is how reliable are these vehicles from that particular period? Are there any particular tell tale signs that I should be looking for to give me an indication of the condition of the vehicle? Also, are there still ample parts available for these vehicles?
Any assistance/advice would be appreciated.

Only problem is that there was no G55 in 1990......

If its got G55 on the rear then it's been re-badged. In that area of the world it is usual to find Gs that have been altered to look like a different model; by type and/or year. It'll probably be a 6 cylindar petrol engine. I'd be tempted to move on a look elsewhere. Parts are readily available though the dealers and online.
