I currently drive a G63 but have been toying with getting a G65. Anybody out there have experience with G65 and range on a tank etc? We do road trips with G63 and was curious how much worse mpg and range is real world with G65. Thanks!

Yes we are but for different reasons that you may think.
One of the reasons I got rid of my M5 (back in 2006) just after 3k miles.
I was simply tired of going to a gas station every 150 miles.

G63 nor G65 are not gas friendly trucks(weight shape) get a GL diesel if someone is concerned about gas. As far as the difference between G63 and G65 mpg I would say is not much where the G65 might only do one mile less per gallon than the G63.

I didn't know G65's were in the US yet. Also, I went from S63 to S65 thinking it would be a tremendous upgrade and was sorely disappointed. I'm really hesitant about anything with a 5 in it from AMG.

MPG? Range?

You sound more like a poser than an actual G-wagon owner.

For what it's worth: the 65 is just bragging rights.

Saw one at the NY international Auto show last year. Gorgeous vehicle. You spend that kind of money on a car you generally don't care much about MPG.

Interesting comment from a guy worried about G wagon reliability. I happen to own a G550 and a G63 and just happen to love G wagons. My range concern was to decide if I could use it like I do my G63. But thank you for your helpful comments. Always appreciate your insight. Go back to your trap house.

Hmmm .... You had to go through past threads/comments to have something to say.

I know the car well and used it a lot but haven't owned one long enough to know about its reliability. Wasn't worried about it but wanted to check with actual owners since it was for a special project.

Drove the G65 in Europe - identical to the 63 but a different exhaust sound.

As for the mpg thingy, I think I am not the only one here who finds your question odd.

I find the responses challenging your question to be utterly ridiculous and inappropriate. Asking question re: range on a gas guzzling / heavy truck in a v12 engine configuration otherwise not previously available in North America is obviously a legitimate question and has nothing to do with ones ability to appreciate the G-Wagen.

In any event, MB lists the car at 12-14mpg, however Car and Driver paints what I would consider a much more realistic figure of 7-9 on a 25g tank. Perhaps on long haul highway speeds you could crank out 260mi on that tank or more if you weren't stomping on the pedal. Good luck with that....
