G63 Squeaking Noise - Hood Latch Area

Don't know if this has been posted yet by whoever uploaded the video, but thank you!!! After a week at the dealer, they could not figure out that the constant squeaking noise that I thought was coming from inside the car was coming from this area!! Thank you for the fix :)

Wow! I have a 05 G55 and have been hearing this noise inside of my car since I got it a year ago, I hope this will solve my problem, will put electrical tape on it tomorrow, will post results

UPDATE: I put the electrical tape on the space and it worked! But shortly after it slowly crept back, so I might need more tape elsewhere. Not sure.

OMG!

I've been living with that sound for over five years. Each time the dealer puts Velcro on the same spot (the smooth side). That helps for a very short time till it wears out. the tape should work at lot better. thanks

Exactly the sound I hear!!!!

Took my 2014 G550 in for service because of “rattling/squeaking” sound in coming from front engine. 2 dealerships couldn’t find anything wrong BUT this post is spot on!!! Taking back to dealership to fix! Thank you for the post!!!

Identified the same culprit when we purchased our G63 last year. A lubricant only fixed short term. Used PTFE (Teflon) sheet instead of the tape. Placed a small amount of 3M silicone paste on bumper for added slip and noise was gone
