Hello, I just purchased a new to me 2009 g55 AMG Kompressor. The satellite radio appears not to be receiving a signal (no signal). The rubber ducky antenna above the wind shield seems physically ok. However what ever the squarish thing on the rear of the roof looks like something hit it. Its got a pretty good crack in it. Could this be the satellite antenna? Thanks, Jack

Odds are the squarish antenna is your problem. They're generally either satellite radio or GPS antennas.

From what I can glean off the net the rubber antenna is for the radio and GPS which both work fine. I am wondering if the square one in the back could be a diy or should I just take the G to the dealers? Searching the net has not provided me any clues.

Throw up a picture of it.

Also, do you have a built-in radar/laser unit or any aftermarket stereo?

This is the thing I think might be broken because it has a pretty good crack and looks like it was impacted by something. There are no radar detectors or anything not OEM. The Sirius had me check that "bluetooth" was disabled.
