W108 Fuel Access Panel
Has anyone modified their rear fuel access panel on this, or similar model?
The door on my 280SE does not open wide enough to give full access to the fuel filler neck, requiring use of a funnel or assorted gymnastics to refuel. Having the license plate mounted on that panel restricts the width it will open as well.
Could the panel be modified to hinge on the left edge of the access door, so that it would open like a book?
I'd be interested in hearing if anyone has come up with a simple solution.
Thanks,
Ed
