What would you guys prefer to buy?


A slightly used (less than 10k miles) Porsche Boxter S for around $44,000 a new C230K fully loaded for around $38,000, a slight used CLK320 (2004) with less than 10k miles or a new BMW 330ci with Navigation, sport package, SMG for around $43,000 plus taxes etc.??


What do you guys think about maybe getting a used M3 (E46) with less than 15k miles for around $45,000 not many options..

none of the above; I'd get a new or slightly used e320 w/as many options as possible or a slightly used '03 clk500;

between the cars u listed, definately go for the m3

E46 would be my bet, either that or a used CLK 430/500 I would be wary of the BMW simply because of the new 3er out soonish you will take a major bath on depreciation.

if you're into the SMG, then i would get the 330ci.
however, for driving around Boston, you would want the C230k.
but, those who think the car = the $$$, they know the C230 is the cheapest MB out there to buy new, (although it would be my first choice.)
which leaves the boxster, which i don't neccessarily agree with, but in boston i'd go with that over the other two.

if the 330 was a 6spd or manumatic, then we're in a different ballpark . . . .

You don't want a boxster, you could get a nice 993 porsche 911. Or C32, or used M3, go for one of those and you'll be happy

How do all new c-class owners feel about this?? The same applies to (especially 2005) c-classes, right?? When is the new body c-class coming out?? 2006? 2007?? The prototype someone posted in a thread last week looked awomse and probably worth the wait IMO

I am fine with the C's I own, I will not consider another C untill I see the new style
I have heard rumors that the AMG version C will blow the C55 and C32 away, so I think the people who will be upset are the C55 owners.

What kind of driving do you do and who do you do it with? I just exchanged an '00 Boxster for a new E500. The Boxster was one of the most fun cars I've ever owned but I was using it primarily for commuting. For a weekend trip, we would take my wife's car because the Boxster was uncomfortable for a passenger. I decided that rather than a partially loaded Boxster S with great performance which I would rarely use, I'd be better off with a fully loaded E with luxury for both commuting and travelling and good enough performance. Actually, it has exceeded my expectations in performance, luxury, and driving fun. All 4 cars should be great to drive but there is nothing like a Porsche. Only you can decide on the trade-offs between performance, passenger comforts, space, and available options.

Don't worry about a Boxster in Boston. My wife (then girl-friend) still talks about our late night 90 mph excursions along Storrow Drive in a 911.
