Steering Wheel Swap - R230 SL500 Wheel into W163 ML
 

Good day, all. I'm looking to fit an R230 pre-facelift steering wheel into a 2003 W163. I'll have to fit an R230 airbag unit, which will have steering wheel buttons, but the W163 airbag hasn't, so I'll need to be sure the electrical connections are correct for the airbag and horn push. Other than that, providing the splines are the same size so the wheel physically fits, it should be fine. I hope...

Could it really be that simple? I haven't done any dismantling yet, to see if it will fit. Does anybody know whether it can be done, or even better, has anybody done it? Are there any problems I haven't thought of? Please help if you can...
