Auto start stop
The EPA may abandon the mandate for Auto start stop. If they do, can my Mercedes dealer disable it?

The free way is to unplug the sensor on the battery but it might affect other parts of the car.
It was just nice if the mandate is gone and dealerships can start disabling it as part of recall (they probably won't though).

Start/stop is not an EPA mandate (https://www.newsmax.com/us/epa-lee-z...14/id/1210884/), but is a "feature" car makers design in to goose a car's fuel efficiency according to some fictional algorithm. Like mild hybrid technology, it's junk science that bureaucrats buy into and impose on car manufacturers and consumers, with no regard to reliability consequences.
