Iphone caution with Bluetooth Puck

My experience dictates the iphone will only work with version 2 of the bluetooth puck. I had V1 and while the phone would pair and work, contacts would not upload. The only contacts on the command system were the 5 AT&T numbers that were on the SIM card. You cannot transfer your contacts to the SIM card on the Iphone.
My dealer let me try V2 ( part number B6 787 5878) and my contacts uploaded to the command system to the extent of it's memory. The only remaining issue is that sometimes Command will drop the phone upon an inital start, and requires turning the command phone off and on again until it syncs properly.
FYI, spoke to MB tech, and they say the only change between v1 and v2 is so that some "supported phones" will not be disconnected. Probably very similar to the problem I'm now having with iphone being dropped upon initial start. There were no changes to the bluetooth spec, etc

I have the V2 BT puck but have not even been able to get the iPhone to pair with it. Any advice?

What is it doing?

Any messages? Does it start for a second and then turn off?

Essentially, nothing

The phone shows that it is discoverable and searching. The comand screen indicates that the phone is being activated, but it never pairs. I am going to pull the BT module out and re-install it and then i"ll try turning it off and on.

How much does the V2 cost

Did your dealer offer you an even swap for your version 1 or do you have to pay again?

I bought the BT unit about a month ago and got a V2.

This seems to have done the trick....at least for now. On the positive side, the BT interface with the iPhone is working perfectly including displaying all my contacts.
