Purchasing 3 GL550's HELP!!

You heard it right. Myself and a couple friends are purchasing GL550's. One Black/Black and 2 White/Tan. I'm trading my wife's GL450 in for the 550. All 3 are going to have 5 options (Illuminated door sills, keyless go, iPod integration, DVD Players and trailer hitch. MSRP comes to $82,965. The Salt Lake City dealership said we can have all 3 for invoice. They told us invoice was $77,000 and some change. How do we find out what the invoice is on these vehicles? Also, I made several calls to Fletcher Jones, Glauser and a couple dealerships back east and they told me they won't sell the GL550's for even close to invoice. They pretty much told me to go fly a kite if I wanted invoice on them. What is invoice and does anyone know how we can get a better deal than invoice? Any ideas or does anyone have a contact at a dealership for good deals?

Sounds like it is close to invoice. Ask to see the actual invoice they received from Mercedes. They may be getting a kick-back from Mercedes to sell the remaining inventory. Either that or the dealerships want to get out from underneath them because they have been sitting. Not to mention, it's the end of the year so they may have to pay an inventory tax on the cars?

I'd be suspect of the deal. There may be some type of lot fee or some bloated dealer prep fee. Just have them fax you the invoices so you don't waste your time. Get everything in writing before you even step foot in the dealership.

Invoice prices

go to edmunds.com, they have the price as $82,965 /$77,212 remember even at invoice. the dealer still has $ 2,500 of hold back money coming to him, here on the east coast as much as they scream, we will not sell at invoice, they all do, some will even go into the HB :)

Search for Nevada Jack's posts for his sales person's contact info at Westminster MB in Denver. Jack swears by him. Tell them Jack sent ya' :D

You may have to wait a bit since it will be hard to find 3 550s optioned and colored just as you want them on one dealer lot.

All the best.

Will it help you or us to negotiate a better deal if you mentioned 4 GL's? I'm shopping for one as well. :)

Good luck to you and please post what you find out. I'll do the same as soon as I get some quotes from different dealers.

It certainly is worth a try nish. Here is the phone # for Greg Weiler at Westminster MB (formerly Glauser) in Denver 866-711-0429

Keep in mind the demand for the three different models of the GL varies as well as the delivery times.

I called them and spoke with Dimitri at the dealership. He told me they can't even come close to invoice. He said if any dealership is offering you invoice to take it and not buy from them.

Yeah, it would help. Are you ready to move quickly? And what options/color combos are you wanting?

Based on your OP, Salt Lake is offering you Invoice. I would close the deal quickly before they change their mind.

I wouldn't dilly dally any longer Utah. You're getting the best deal that I've seen on the forum and you're looking for a few extra hundred dollars?

Like NJ said, place the order before they change their mind. The only thing I would add to that if you are not buying from the lot is to get the offer in writing.

The easiest thing to do would be to just ask them to see the invoice sheet. I know they can appreciate moving 3 vehicles at once and like others have said, if you can get them for invoice, more power to you guys.

I'll send you a pm.

But I agree with others. Invoice seem to be quite good at the moment. I tried to get quotes from others and no one can get close to invoice. I just based on the invoice price listed on edmunds.

Just multiply the MSRP + accessories by .93 for invoice...then add the $775 delivery charge.
